    Re: Verdun (XBX1, PS4)

    Your info is on point Canes.........It's still an interesting alternative to the faster pace Battlefield 1 game. Releasing Aug 30th.

    The game is getting average scores (metacritic = 7.0) but a 7.8 from users score's play on pc. Much praises and hits go towards its slower pace, more authentic, and realistic combat play. It's 24.99 on steam so your guess is as good as mine on what its cost is going to be. Probably digital only too.

    Here's another trailer showing off gameplay;

        Just a heads up for those that may be purchasing the game in north america on PSN. The 25% launch discount won't happen until september 7 as there was admin issues. https://twitter.com/VerdunGame/statu...28414496059392

            Glad I read this thread, I had never heard of this game. I'll definitely be picking it up for $15 this week. I'm a sucker for any WWI or WWII games.

                Picked this up today with the 25% discount so paid about $20 for it. I've had some fun with it but it's far from being polished. The framerate online is terrible actually almost unplayable it's so choppy. I like what the game is trying to do with the concept but it's executed so poorly. There's alot of weapons & unlocking to do but it doesn't mean anything if the gameplay suffers. They say they're going to improve performance on the PS4 but it has to be a major improvement not a subtle fix. Overall I wouldn't recommend it because of the issues & also not many people are online playing it at the moment. I know it's a budget title but you still want some quality for your money.

                  I would definitely recommend the PC version over the console versions. This is the type of game that will likely always have a bigger base of players on the PC and just feels better on the PC.

                  The unlock system is a bit different at first, but once you understand it it is actually pretty neat. The game is obviously much more polished and optimized for the PC at the moment considering it's been out for over a year now.

                      I'm not great at the game but I did manage to flank & takeout 5 in the trenches. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ae5s51--N9I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

                        Nice. This is the type of game that any decent kill streak makes you feel amazing. My longest was 10, but the last time I played I got one up to 13 and felt like a WWI hero.

                          My biggest complaint with the PS4 version is the framerate it's unacceptable even for a budget title. I do hope they smooth it out which they say they are with an upcoming patch. The game won't be for everyone as it's style & pace will turn some people off. I'm always up to try different types of games.

                            This game is right up my alley, but I still question their decision to being it to consoles. I'm glad gamers like you have the chance to experience it as well, but this just doesn't seem like the type of game that will survive too long on either console. It's like a Red Orchestra 2 that will always have that niche that plays it on PC. Those niches don't seem to exist as often on consoles.

                              My biggest worry about the game is number of players on the consoles. Are there opportunities occurring that offer 16 vs 16?

                                It's rare to have a full 32 but I did have a game or 2 yesterday have it but usually it's alot less. Titles like these would benefit both PS4 & Xbox One if they were crossplatform with one another. That though likely will never happen.
