You could always wait for San Andreas to come to the Xbox. I mean GTA III and Vice City eventually were released for the Xbox. But if she says no to the PS2, then I'd just drop it unless it really matters that much to you. Video games are important to my sanity, but my marriage is everything. That being said, I have all 3 major consoles and a GBA.

That's a sad statement... let you? how old are you? Would she rather have you hanging out in a bar? I told my wife before I got married long ago that Im a gamer and I will probubly buy all of the system that come out. If you dont like it then pound sand. Once I layed that out and she saw I was serious she backed down and it never came up again. Now she is starting to play to, (Damn SIMs2!) . I would never let some one say um.. no you can't buy that and that's it.. if you dont want to lay it out like I did to my wife.. tea bag her while she's sleeping everynight until she says yes...

i agree with brian. If it is not going to keep from from paying your bills or financially put you in a bind, then i dont see a reason why you shouldnt. SPECIALLY if you arent married. I felt a bit guilty a few days ago when i picked up gta and a new mini ps2 because over the weekend i repurchased a gc. at first it felt that i was overdoing it, and felt guilty cause when my wife wants something she will let me know when she wants to purchase something, and we discuss wehter its a good time to get the item at the time.

I did this all on a whim, so i felt bad at the fact i hadnt told her about it. well after i did tell her, it wasnt a big deal, and shouldnt be a big deal. its a video game console to play video games. Its not a motorcycle. Its not a huge investment. So no biggie

Tell her then not to buy those shoes she just "has to have!"

I say go ahead and get it man. The whole "what's mine is mine and what's yours is mine" from the gf doesn't kick in til you're married. Just as long as you don't spend every waking minute playing video games you should be straight.

And yes, take advantage of the give up ciggies for video game bundle. That way you add years to your life and get the system too.

She did offer me a deal yesterday though. She said that if would COMPLETELY quit smoking cigarettes, she'd go out and buy the PS2 and Smackdown vs. Raw for me...how about that?

Now, the question is...do I want to quit smoking?
quit smoking not just for the ps2, but because its better in the long run (health wise).

Even though I am 17, this is a no brainer. First of all, you should of bought the PS2 in the first place. She doesn't own you and like someone said, if she won't let you buy a PS2 then you two weren't meant for each other. Plus if you cave now, you'll never get out of that ditch and she'll control you till you die or divorce.

Now the smoking thing you should go after for sure. Quit smoking for the sake quitting, because honestly smoking to me seems like one of the stupidest things ever. It doesn't really give you a great euphoria and it is so damaging.
