Re: How many non-sport games have you purchased this year?
Good thread. Let's see, all of these purchases were for the Xbox:
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. Very overrated. The offline game was hardly any different than the first Splinter Cell, and the online game was more of a map-memorizing exercise than a video game.
Rainbow Six: Black Arrow. Overrated. Subtle improvements offline, but the addition of modes such as Canister ruined online play. RS:3 was much more of a tactical shooter online, but UbiSoft caved in to the twitch-shooter crowd with stupid modes like Canister.
Ghost Recon Island Thunder. Great follow-up to Ghost Recon. More missions, more weapons, awesome free downloadable map support from UbiSoft.
Halo 2 (preorder). A no-brainer, eh?
Full Spectrum Warrior. My gaming disappointment of the year. After the initial "wow" factor wore off after a week, I realized how repetitive and linear the offline game is. This is "rinse, wash and repeat" gaming at its worst. And the online mode was exactly the same as the offline mode. I have no problem with not firing weapons and tactical play. But I do have a big problem with repetitive, linear gameplay and boring online modes.
Crimson Skies. Fun game. Many modes, cool atmsophere, good story, excellent play online and offline, very good downloadable content support from Microsoft. A real "Indiana Jones meets The Rocketeer in the air" vibe.
Take care,

Re: How many non-sport games have you purchased this year?
I got James Bond: Everything or Nothing (eventually traded it in)
and yesterday I bought Midway Arcade Treasures 2.
I will get Street Figher Anniversary Collection next year.
For the most part I'm not a big fan of non-sport games. I hate getting stuck at certain points. Plus there's virtually no replay value.Comment

I take it you don't have Xbox Live or PS2 Online. Otherwise, there's plenty of replay value for online-enabled non-sports games.
Take care,

Re: How many non-sport games have you purchased this year?
For my XBOX:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus - pretty fun ninja action. I play it by myself or with my 4 year old nephew on occasion. Also includes as an unlockable the original TMNT Arcade game (Blast from the past!) My score 8/10
Intellivision Lives!: compilation of 60 (!) Intellivision games from the 1980s. A nice blast from the past that provides some good nostalgia. Probably the space games and the one pinball game are the funnest. My score 6/ 10
Scooby Doo! Mystery Mayhem: got this one just to play with my nephew, it is pretty uneven. Some of the parts are pretty good, while other part are a real chore and not fun at all. My score 6.5/ 10
Airforce Delta Storm: just a shoot 'em up arcade type fighter-jet game (I thought it might be kinda' like Top Gun for NES, which was one of my favorites). This seems to be the only older game that I have purchased, I think it is copyrighted 1999. This game really sucks. Not fun at all. My score 2/ 10In my Xbox: Links 2004, Top Spin, Espn NBA Basketball (street mode!), NBA Inside Drive 2004, NBA Jam, ESPN NFL 2k5Comment
