I've been unavailable during certain times of the day.

The real question is why wasn't this available for in-store pickup when I pre-ordered this mid-December?

Anyway, it's scheduled 2:15 - 6:15 PM tomorrow (Monday), so **** them. I'll be going to BBY a little later when I have time.

No clue. I pre ordered the day before on Thursday for curbside pick up Friday morning. Quick and easy process.

Don’t read if you aren’t at least mostly finished with TLOU2

Re: The Last of Us Part 2 (PS4)

I'm about halfway through the game and honestly I feel like the "controversy" over the game is just the internet being the internet. The only ding I can give the game is that it isn't the original but that's true for the sequel to any hit. It's more LoU, just bigger and prettier.

It's like Arkham City following Arkham Asylum. AC is a great game, but there's no way to recapture the magic of AA, theres no way to recapture those Scarecrow fights.

Back to the LoU, some of the gameplay changes like jumping and the dogs are nice additions but they dont fundamentally change the gameplay loop.

The story, like the original, is where it's at. Good, bad or indifferent I fell some type of way about what is going on and I'm eager to see where it ends. I'd give the original LoU a 10, I'd give LoU2 a 9 right now.

Re: The Last of Us Part 2 (PS4)

Picked it up yesterday from Best Buy out of convenience, and only a couple of hours in so far. Was really hoping to get it Friday to spend a lot of time with it, but it's whatever. Better than waiting till 11:00 PM tonight (the newest suggested delivery time for my package).

I appreciate the visual style of this game, though the grain gets a bit in the way in long-distance shots (as if it's distorting detail as opposed to preserving it). Much like Uncharted going from its remaster to its PS4 sequel, it's too bad that 60 FPS couldn't be hit here, but I don't think this ever had a shot. The cinematic look it attempts isn't dreadful, but with all of the turning it can make me feel a bit unsettled.

Sound effects in this game are absolutely top-notch. Clickers are scarier to hear than ever, and stealth kills make me cringe hearing them. With headphones, dialogue from your player is a bit weird as far as localization, but I wouldn't know how to fix that if I wanted to.

The attention to detail in this game is crazy though, especially the interiors. If I'm in an abandoned area, I like to go around and look at every label of every little thing. There was one room that contained some books, and almost all of them had titles on them. They repeated after a while, but I found a unique one called "1,001 Ways to Cook Squirrel." Absolutely hilarious! Also neat that I can knock over books with the tip of my rifle as they're on the shelves; I'm sure if I throw a bottle or brick at them, or shoot them even, that it would also take some sort of effect. Very little in this game is "static."

I'm playing on Hard for now, but I'm wondering if I could've done the most difficult setting. As long as listening mode is still an option on Survivor, I might give that a go instead. Of course, I can fine-tune aspects as well by customizing my options, then. I previously misread someone's post that said no trophies linked to difficulty, but I thought they meant if you customize certain bits then it disables the difficulty trophies. Instead, it's just "There are no difficulty trophies."

I couldn't imagine playing this game without playing TLOU. I know they do a good job of cluing you in on what you might have missed, but it's one of those things like Avengers: Endgame where you don't get a true feel of the characters and what they're going through unless you've experienced everything leading up to that particular moment. I recommend anyone who wants to play this game does still play TLOU first, even though this game uses clever ways to re-teach you the controls and aspects of what you're going to have to do later.

Having fun, and I want this campaign to last me for a while.

You can do some really fun setups during encounters. It takes a few runs to see the area layout and find a good spot to setup around.

One encounter I only fired 2 bullets and placed 3 mines to kill about 8 humans.

I snipped 1 through the window to draw them to me where I placed a mine at a window, 1 at the entry into the build and another at the inner hall.

Is one of the female voice actors the same one that does Bangalore in Apex Legends? The voice sounds identical.
