Im torn which one to get.
As for GRW and SGW3, im buying GRW 100%. In fact, I'll pre-order it the week or so before it releases from Best Buy. I have seen enough of GRW in videos and have played enough of Ubisoft games to know what im getting. Is GRW going to be perfect? Of course not. No game was, is or ever will be but I do think that I will enjoy the game like I do every Ubisoft game I buy.
Out of the 15 games that I have played and completed from Ubisoft, only 3 of them were lower than an 8/10 for me which means for me personally, 80% of the time, I have been happy, satisfied and enjoyed Ubisoft games.
YOU have to do more research to see if GRW is for you. Have you enjoyed Ubisoft games before? Do you like their open world formula? Watch some more videos or wait for reviews and impressions from the retail release version of the game. Could also wait to see if there's another Beta for the game before launch which there might be.
For me personally, I don't need to play GRW to know what im getting. I trust Ubisoft and they have rarely let me down and I always enjoy their games.
As for SGW3, their Beta has had bad impressions on youtube and other sites. It's developed and published by CI Games which I have heard of before but never been interested in any of their games until now. If I had to choose one or the other, im easily going with GRW because I trust Ubisoft and know what im getting.
I don't know what im getting with CI Games and SGW3 nor do I trust them especially after offering the season pass for free as a PS4 and PC pre-order bonus but yet, Xbox One owners miss out on one of the two expansions, the multi-player maps and one or two other items. My guess is that SGW3 probably doesn't run or play on Xbox One so CI Games is trying to push extra sales for the PS4/PC versions by offering a better pre-order bonus.
From the videos I have seen of SGW3, im definitely interested in it as it's my type of game especially if it's a Far Cry type game. You should watch some gameplay walkthrough videos on Youtube. Main difference for me between the two is that I know what im getting with Ubisoft, they have my trust, my confidence and my purchase but CI Games is an unknown to me. Their history and games isn't that good. I definitely want to pre-order SGW3 especially since it comes with the season pass but I won't do so until the week or so before the game releases which in fairness, is what I do with every game.
Obviously, it's up to you but I would say do some more research on the games themselves and the developer/publisher. Ubisoft isn't perfect and im sure that GRW will have problems at launch but like The Division, Siege and most likely For Honor, the game isn't meant to be a short term game. It's meant to be a long term game. And while it's bad for games to be released and then fixed weeks or months later, I have way more trust and confidence in Ubisoft to fix the game if it needs fixing at launch over time as opposed to SGW3 in which CI Games could easily abandon if it tanks in reviews/sales.
Again, up to you bud.Comment

Re: 2017 Gaming Plans
You're welcome. I love Far Cry as well. Played and completed Far Cry 3, 4 and Primal. Can't wait for Far Cry 5!!! Granted, it hasn't been announced yet but I would be very surprised if they weren't working on it.

OMG YES I NEED FAR CRY 5 IN MY LIFE! I really hope they make another.
I've made up my mind, I'm going GR:Wildlands all the way! Game looks way too good to pass up since I LOVE solo open-world games! Yes, I've played Ubisoft games before and I love there style.
I'm keeping my pre-order for Wildlands.Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Re: 2017 Gaming Plans
Don't know what's going on but nothing excites me for '17. Not a single game.
Would've loved to see a single player campaign like a Far Cry soak up these months for me but I just don't see a game like that out there.Comment

So here we are in 2017 and all I see being purchased on release day are:
Horizon Zero Dawn
Show 17
Madden 18
Red Dead Redemption 2
On the cheap for Xmas I will snag Mass Effect Andromeda.

Re: 2017 Gaming Plans
***MONTHLY UPDATE***
CURRENTLY PLAYING
- Horizon: Zero Dawn (put over 40 hours into the game since launch and have barely scratched the surface. spent at least 10 hours just exploring, hunting animals and mechs, scavenging, resource gathering, etc. alone. everything about the game is top notch from being the generation's best looking game to the excellent gameplay. horizon isn't perfect but it's close. still wish there was a mini map though as not having that in an open world game just doesn't fit in my opinion. a few other minor complaints but easily the best overall game since The Witcher III)
PLAYED
- Hitman: The Complete First Season (purchased and played after I finished RE VII but after two missions, it's just not for me. the ways to kill your targets is great but having to change outfits almost constantly was a turn off for me. if you're an old school Hitman fan, you'll love the new Hitman franchise)
- Sniper Elite 4 (rented from GameFly and played through the first two chapters. good game but simply didn't grab me to want to keep playing)
COMPLETED
- Mafia III (overall, a 9/10 and my new 2016 game of the year. amazing story and characters with an excellent soundtrack. good gameplay and visuals. can't wait for the expansions)
- Resident Evil VII: Biohazard (good 8/10 game with excellent visuals, good music, atmosphere and immersion. a step in the right direction but really hoping they go back to the third person perspective because while in general, the first person perspective is fine, during the boss battles, it's bad in my opinion. last third of the game also fell off story wise for me personally)
BACKLOG (purchased, downloaded and installed)
- Assassin's Creed Chronicles India (haven't played)
- Assassin's Creed Chronicles Russia (haven't played)
- Axiom Verge (haven't played)
- Mercenary Kings (haven't played)
- Stories: The Path of Destinies (played through a few different paths months ago but accidently deleted my save and have to start over)
BACKLOG (disc owned and fully installed)
- For Honor (have only played the first two missions)
- Killzone: Shadow Fall (have only played the tutorial)
- Ratchet and Clank (haven't played it yet)
- Watch Dogs 2 (have only played the tutorial)
BACKLOG (gamefly)
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (up to the solar system map. curious to see how this stacks up against other 2016 first person shooters Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2 and Doom but jeez, haven't played this game in two months. will hopefully get to it by the end of March)
BACKLOG (haven't purchased yet)
- I Am Setsuna (digital, waiting for the game to be on sale for $20 on PSN)
- Forza Horizon 3 / xbox one (digital, waiting for the game to be $30 on xbox live)
- Forza Horizon 3: Blizzard Mountain / xbox one (digital, waiting for the expansion pass to be on sale for $20)
- Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition / xbox one (digital, waiting for the game to be on sale for $10 on xbox live)
- Salt and Sanctuary (digital, waiting for the game to be on sale for $10 on PSN)
- Shadow of the Beast (digital, waiting for the game to be on sale for $10 on PSN)
MARCH 7th
- Nier: Automata (played the demo and actually enjoyed it which I wasn't expecting. camera and controls definitely need some work but at the same time, there's a lot of options for both the camera and controls. looking forward to the final version. hoping to get it via GameFly)
- Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands (my third most wanted and anticipated game of 2017 thus far. have played the open beta and my two major complaints were/are the non-existent cover system (they should have just copied The Division) and there's no knife in the game and no stealth kills. with that said, wildlands looks amazing in 4K HDR and my Ubisoft formula is back which makes me very happy because that's how I prefer my open world games)
APRIL 4th
- Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 (this is the 2017 version of what im hoping will be a Far Cry type open world clone. 2016 version was supposed to be Homefront: The Revolution and while that had a few cool ideas and concepts, the game was a disaster. really hoping that this doesn't happen with this game but I wouldn't be surprised if it does. pre-ordering the game gives PS4/Xbox One/PC owners the season pass for free)
APRIL 11th
- Yooka-Laylee (an old school 3D plat-former. need I say more? okay, I will. game looks beautiful and is being developed by PlayTonic which consists of mostly ex-Rare employees and by ex-Rare, I mean the great Rare, pre-Microsoft. if you enjoyed Banjo or my personal favorite Conker's Bad Fur Day on Nintendo 64, you should hopefully enjoy this game)
2016 was a very good year for me but early 2017 is looking even better than early 2016. The amount of quality games is staggering to say the least. Hopefully, we'll all have an awesome and amazing year of gaming!!!Comment

Re: 2017 Gaming Plans
About to knock out some backlog. Just beat Final Fantasy 15, now on to Mafia 3, after Mafia 3 I think I'm going to start on The Witcher 3, after Witcher 3 maybe Shadow of Mordor to get ready for Shadow of War. Will wait for Ghost Recon Wildlands to be discounted and for Mass Effect to come to EA Access.

Knee-deep in Nioh and loving every minute of it. Played a couple of House of Horizon Zero Dawn to show my kids and was impressed, will be digging into that once I finish Nioh. Then it's onto The Show and my rental of Yakuza 0 that I haven't even opened yet.
