Obviously I'm not in your situation, but with so many other great games out there I would just think you could find a better value. Of course I completely understand that this is basically the only Star Wars game since 2015 and the only one on the horizon.

Yeah....i used to be more of a gamer in my younger days---NFL 2K5/MLB The Show/Halo/the original Battlefront games but now really only time for a game here/there.....AND, i am a huge Star Wars Fanboy so there is that too

I keep getting an error regarding some kind of reward over, and over and over in the menus. So annoying. Only started happening after last patch. I think it’s regarding some kind of emote.

You said it. I was really into collecting sports cards over the last 5 years or so, and obviously I'm a gamer, so something had to take a hit. Went from spending almost $200 a month on sports cards down to about $40 a month. Had to be one or the other and of course gaming ain't going anywhere.

I don't have much time either with three kids, but I don't want to buy a game, only to put down more money so I can actually play the game that I purchased because I can't play the game like it's my full time job. There's something very wrong with that.

A casual star wars FPS should not be like this. There's no reason for it given the audience and genre.

Vote with my wallet. Im not buying a game that creates an endless grind on a linear, casual FPS game in order to get people to throw money at them without thinking.

My time and money is more valuable than that. No interest on a premium game with a mobile progression system. No thanks

Don't you get points when you die that can go towards getting the special characters?

You get points during a match but once the match is over it resets to zero. So basically better players build the points back up faster and get the heroes the next game as well.

I wish they'd carry over points but maybe they don't want heroes being on maps from the beginning of the game ? I don't know. All I know is at the rate I am going I will never get to play heroes unless I do Heroes and Villains.

To me it is similar to kill streak rewards in other games. Similarly I didn't usually get the good kill streaks accept on really rare occasions.

Mostly an offline guy and LOVE Star Wars. I played the heck out of the older Battlefronts back in the day and decided to give the last version on PS4 a quick round last night. Maybe all the expert players are off but I actually had a lot of fun with it. Just wish it had more of an arcade/bot mode for me to just chill with for a while and teach my son (6) with. Is the latest version good enough in those regards to take the plunge?

There is an arcade "bot mode" to the game, and you can even do split screen with your son. So yeah, if that is what you are looking for it's good.

As far as the user campaign mode, I'm only past the first level, so can't comment there. But I've had some fun in the arcade mode from a training aspect.

Despite the progression system, it’s a super fun game to play. The ships fly so much better than the last game and the maps are jaw dropping. Single player was underwhelming but still fun. The guns feel, sound, and look great. I love watching smoke billow out of blaster burns. This game still has enormous potential if Dice is allowed to tinker/add/remove stuff over time the way Bungie did with Destiny.

Yeah but you can't use vehicles in arcade mode...which is like half the experience. AND no space battles in arcade mode!

Am I wrong for hoping this game flops so it teaches EA a lesson for trying to be shady to customers and reconsider their shady tactics in future games?
