It's a frantic fragfest, Unreal style. I prefer a slower paced tactical shooter and that's what GR2 has to offer.

Re: Ghost Recon 2 Impressions
Played online for the first time tonight, and loved it. I was in a small (5-7 player) group and we played Squad Siege. The levels are huge and getting that rare kill felt very satisfying. I definitely want to play a full 8-on-8 match, next time.XBL: Mean Greene

I'm thinking it's just cuz you guys aren't very good at it? Play against your friends and I guarantee you'll kill 8 hours before you know it. No other game has ever sucked me in as much as Halo multiplayer.
I don't. I prefer tactical military shooters, so GR 2 is much better Xbox Live game for me.

Re: Ghost Recon 2 Impressions
First off, I have to say that Ghost Recon 2 looks and sounds great. Better than the GR games in every aspect. Just wait until the first time you have to turn on night vision while venturing through areas with hard rain and darkness. Beautiful.
Instead of the old menu system used in past Ghost Recon games, GR 2 now uses Rainbow Six 3 style menus for setting options and giving out commands in Campaign mode. It's now easier to go through and find everything you want/need to adjust more complex command screens of the past GRs.
A new addition to GR 2 is being able to roll over while prone. Nice touch. Plus you're able to immediately go from standing to laying prone and vice versa with two taps of the d-pad unlike in previous GR games. No more having to waste a second or two of time going through the crouch transition if you don't want to. In GR 2 you can equip up to 4 different weapons while you can only equip up to 2.
Another significant thing is that there are no binoculars. Those veteran players who often uses riflemen in past GR games know that it was a "clever" (heh, some even call it "cheap" *snicker*) move that can be done in previous GRs with binoculars that can allow a player to shoot accurately for much longer distances than what the weapon is capable. Can't rely on this anymore because the binoculars are gone.
I'm surprised to see people making the permanent switch from Halo 2 to Ghost Recon 2, because this is something I never saw coming. (I won't get into reasons why in this post.) But for those who are doing so, there is one thing I do have to warn people about for Ghost Recon 2. It's that your eyes will have to make a slight adjustment to the framerate during the first time you play this game after playing Halo 2 for a few days. GR 2 will initially look a little choppy to those who are accustomed to playing Halo 2 before popping this game in. But once your eyes get used to the framerate after a few minutes into the game, it's all good.

Re: Ghost Recon 2 Impressions
I played a few minutes of it and boy do I see what MGO meant. I didnt know how to switch weapons or command my troops. They all died almost immediately, and the helicopter kept shooting at me but I didnt know how to pull my RPG gun out..lol
Once I learn to play, good times. The sound is great, all types of shooting and bombing taking place just like a hostile war zone.
We should get a GR2 clan going on.Comment
