The throwables (grenades, dynamite), sling shot, and other explosives give you other options of destruction and carnage. I think the game shines in environments, setting and I am digging all the vehicles.
Yeah, I run with an M-60, a sniper rifle, and a bow. The bow is awesome, because you can do so much with it. You can be stealthy (with basically unlimited ammo if you retrieve your arrows) and you can also use explosive or fire arrows. Just a great do-it-all weapon. I am TERRIBLE with my sniper rifle. I miss way too much and then, of course, everyone alerts and comes straight for me. That's when the M-60 comes out!

My favorite gun in the game is the M-249. Its a machine gun and it’s been money for me. Love this game.

Love my bow and sniper rifle. I am a stealthy assassin. I have always taken that approach with Far Cry games. Nothing has changed in that regard!!

Yea gun selection is very disappointing.

Really surprised as FC3 and FC4 had a bunch of guns, not the reskined crap we get in FC5.

But it is really rewarding where my practice is now. It took 15 years of sweat equity to get here....and also I have a partner which makes it even easier. I sacrificed 50% of the revenue.....but the price of having more free time for my family and leisure life is priceless and worth every dollar I have given up. We have a great partnership. Sorry to break up the bromance...but I was trying to finish all the missions and such in Jacobs area like I did in Johns area (before taking him out), but after doing the shooting range I got blissed. I was confused as to why...but then when I awoke it was the final missions to take out Jacob.

I got it done, but was kind of bummed that I didn't get to do it when I was "ready" (after doing all the missions). I'm not sure if it was a glitch or if that's how it was meant to go down.

Also wondering if it's going to cause me to miss out on some missions due to a certain death that happens in that sequence who's missions I had not done.

I believe after you beat the game you can still go back and finish the rest. Maybe a setting in the options.

Ok.....so minor annoyance with the game but not awful.

So I decided before work today to go do some Cougar hunting since I have not fulfilled that skin challenge (3 perks for 5 skins). I took my trusty Copper and Mahogany hunting rifle (with piercing ammo) and my bow.

Why is it that freaking cult plane is constantly harassing me? I am constantly hiding from it in the trees and bushes while trying to track some cougars (or any game for that matter). Then if I am spotted I have to put up with gun and bombing runs and other cult members driving to me spot and hunting me. It is a little much. I think they can patch this to tone it down a little? Just a smidgen?

I am able to hunt and fish....and I love it. But the constant sustained harassment is a little much sometimes and ruins the mood.

My hope is once I completely clear out John Seed's area of the map and hold all the compounds the cult will be clear in that area and I can go there to hunt and fish in peace.

If planes are hunting you it means you're in Resistance Level 3. The only way to get rid of it is to take out the boss. The planes go away after that.

You will not have a relaxing game in any area where you've built up that much resistance. I wouldn't hold my breath on it being patched.

Ahhhh haaaa. So it is what I thought. So I need to take out John Seed then I can relax in that area of the map, hunt and fish and have a more peaceful time doing it.

                      Then it all makes sense.

I am causing a **** ton of problems for him LOL. This game has been a joy. I was wondering why I am really being hunted intensely now. LMAO.

One of the reasons I am slowing down with my gameplay time with this. Its more than a minor annoyance to me and completely takes me out of the game when I am needing to hunt or to fish. I am hoping as well for a patch and gonna stop playing for a little bit in hopes that they do. Everything else about the game is fantastic to me, but this is starting to take all the fun out of the game for me.

Well my hopes of a patch are dashed then lol. I will go ahead and take out the boss and see how I feel afterwards.

If you zoom all the way out on the map in a region, you will see the level you're at and there's a description of what's happening. If you notice, you also have a lot more locals helping you. So if that cult plane is following you, you will also get a random friendly AI plane trying to take it out sometimes. Friendlies will also be engaging with cultists in gunfights on the ground a lot more.

It's basically chaos until you finish the region once you get to level 3.

Nick Rye is a good companion to have when you're dealing with planes too. If he doesn't shoot them down, he'll at least take the attention off of you for a little while.

In my experience in John's region, running & hiding from the planes means you'll come across another one very soon, but killing one means you'll have peace & quiet for at least a little while.

Yeah, when I would just hide from the plane, I spent a lot of time diving for trees and tall grass. As soon as I took one of those bastards out with a sniper shot, I was plane free for a considerable amount of real life time and was able to run about wherever I cared.

The planes can be annoying, especially when hunting and fishing, but I completely get the design choice. If you've caused so much mayhem and racked up so much cult deaths and destruction to reach level 3, you're damn right they're going to be pissed at you, throwing out everything they have to find you, including roadblocks everywhere and aerial surveillance.

And when spotted, it should feel like you're being hunted. I would love to see a large group of cultists show up in trucks then spread out and search the area I was last seen on foot in a line like how they do it in real life when searching fields and woods for a mission person or a body, making sure they don't miss you or walk past you while in hiding in their search.

Or even better, instead of just showing up and shooting at you and trying to gun you down, show up, spread out wide so your choice of travel direction is limited and start trying to drive you in a certain direction, with a trap waiting for you in that direction. I keep thinking of the scene in Hunt for Red October on the aircraft carrier, when Ryan and XO look at the map of Russian submarine positions. The hounds (the first group of cultists) driving Red October (the deputy) to the hunters (the trap laid waiting for you to walk into it).
