    Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins

Finished Syndicate over Christmas (which crashed roughly every hour on me on PS4), and started playing this a couple weeks back. What a great game. So many things to do in the game, and everything is expertly crafted. The story is one of the best in the AC series as well. Can't say enough good things about this game!

      Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins

Just picked this up for $10 as it is the only one in the franchise I have not played. I messed with it at launch but was not feeling the new direction the IP was going. I picked up Odyssey because I like the time period more and that converted me to the new direction. So now I am back to Origins.

Question though. Is there any real story content in the DLC or can I wait/pass on it for now? Money is a little tight with the state of the world right now. I just desperately needed something new to play.

Well sure, its not that tight. LOL I would not have bought the game if it was a choice between food and Assassins Creed. I mean I love the Franchise but not quite that much.

I will get the DLC eventually, but I was just wondering if like Odyssey the DLC

        Spoiler

Or maybe level based. Like getting to higher levels to be able to play it.

I appreciate the input, really thanks

Saw Gamestop had it used for cheap, current PSN sale is cheap too. Waiting for a gold edition sale or a DLC bundle.

Patience has paid off, PSN has a "Double Discounts" sale going on now for PS+ users. Origins Gold Edition for 20$, hell of a deal, bit on it.

Enjoy. I am near the end of my New Game Plus playthrough and the Curse of the Pharoah's DLC has some of the most visually stunning environments I have ever seen. I love everything about Origins. 20$ is a steal.

                In the final stretch...

Enjoyed the game for the most part. If you loved Witcher 3 and came to this hoping for a similar experience, I think you will be happy.

Having said that, the main difference, for me, is that the side quests in Origins are extremely forgettable/boring. Way too much walking/riding to a location and killing a bad guy(s). Not a whole lot of creativity otherwise. I loved the fact that there were many side quests in the Witcher 3 that didn't end in murder/death.

The visuals are outstanding. Probably the best looking console game I've played (XBOX X on a 4K HDR TV). Much of my play time was devoted to wandering around and taking in the scenes, which is a big part of most open-world games.

I put 75 hours into the game. There is much more to do, but as I've said, the side quests have worn me down, and I'm ready to close this one out and move on to the next game.

                  Re: Assassin's Creed: Origins

Just finished up Origins myself a sometime last week. Would have to say that I hyped to finally get the game out of my backlog for several reasons. The main reason is the fact that I practice Kemeticism which is Ancient Egyptian spirituality so having a game set in Ancient Egypt instantly got my attention.

Now I'm starting to work my way through Odyssey.
