Re: Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

I'm 4 hours in and loving it.

The gunplay and movement are a definite step up. Same for the graphics, but it's still once again the writing, characterization, and amazing interactions with characters at the hub base that steal the show. It's still kind of amazing to me that Machine Games was able to take one of the most faceless and generic protagonists in the history of video games, and give him a heartbeat.

Tip if you're playing on PC: rename the file in base>bink>boot to instantly boot to the main menu when loading up the game.

I just picked up all 3 (the first two on the PSN sale). Looking forward to getting into this series.

Started this last night and had to stop 15 minutes in. This is a game that has to be played when no other family members are home. Brutal!!

These guys make some of the best single player shooter I've ever played and this one is no different..... I think I'm half way through the game and man has it been a ride

From Roswell to where I'm at now has been incredible. It gets wild in the best possible way.

My one complaint would be the over-reliance on the gameplay system of taking down Commanders. If we're lucky enough to get a third game, I hope they mix it up a bit more.

Darn I can’t decide between this game or the new COD game. Leaning toward this one. Loved the new order and I’m playing the old blood now. Is this game enhanced for the pro?

                    Yes

Developed by Machine Games, Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus is a true, generational leap in visual design over the franc…

Unlike prior Bethesda releases like Prey and The Evil Within 2, there is Pro support out of the box - specifically a resolution bump to 2560x1440.
Besides that upgrade in resolution, Pro users also enjoy improved texture filtering on select surfaces, but beyond that, enhancements are sadly on the meagre side. You get improved detail levels on a 4K screen, but the same core assets, effects and quality settings are in place, making it a resolution/filtering upgrade only.

                        Finished. Final stats

Really enjoyed it. Last hour felt a bit rushed though.

I took my time and explored, and there's a lot of conversations and interactions you would miss if you blazed through it. If you liked The New Order definitely check this out. The New Order is probably more consistently great, but this has higher highs.

Re: Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

I finished the main story line last night. Great ride. I think I died 30 times on the last mission.

I still have a few side missions that can be completed after you finish the main story. I will likely circle back and finish them at some point.

Hopefully the developers continue to release a game every two years or so.. This is a great series for those who enjoy singleplayer FPS campaigns.

Probably in the top 3 to 5 shooters of all-time for single player.

The only one I can confidently put ahead of it is Half-Life 2 (both because it's great and also how much afterwards it influenced.) It stands toe-to-toe with new DOOM, for different reasons, atop the list of great shooters.

Holy man was that a good (and wild) ride.

Also, the credit music sucks so prepare for that.

I see the season pass for this on the PS store. Are the episodes already out? If not does anyone know when they are gonna release them. I love me some single player DLC.
