I'm assuming you mean PSP? Isnt that kind of like comparing the technology of N64 to Playstation? There are tradeoffs in both comparisons.

I think the second screen opens the door for new, innovative gameplay ideas, some of which we have already seen.

I, personally, would be happy to make games for either system.

After 24 hours or so I have no regrets. I have spent all my time playing the mini-games in Mario...and I just picked up Feel The Magic which I expect to be Tech-Demo-As-Launch-Title (Fantavision anyone), but hey I have never controlled a game with my breath before.....

I was thinking about picking up Feel The Magic as well, but I picked up the Urbz instead. About how long is FTM?

After 24 hours or so I have no regrets. I have spent all my time playing the mini-games in Mario...and I just picked up Feel The Magic which I expect to be Tech-Demo-As-Launch-Title (Fantavision anyone), but hey I have never controlled a game with my breath before.....

Got my DS today, was planning on waiting until next year, but a coworker brought one to work and let me play with it some, and I knew I had to have one. So, I went picked it up a couple of hours ago. Did some picto-chatting and played some multiplayer Metroid, which was fun for a short time. Except for Mario, the launch games seem mediocre. So far, I like it a lot, but I know until some better games come out, it will only be a temporary diversion from Halo 2, GTA, GR2 and ESPN NBA

Regardless, it is a cool little piece of hardware, I like the fact that Nintendo is still trying to innovate in the face of stiff competition. I hope once more games hit the market and developers really learn how best to use the DS hardware, the DS experiences the same longevity as the Game boy before it. And could someone please release a decent basketball game for the DS...EA...please?

Its not really the same game, though. In this one, you control Yoshi, Luigi, Mario, or Wario and they all have different abilities. I hear some of the levels have been changed. There are several minigames in there that you have to unlock that involve using the stylus. Also, theres a multiplayer game in there though I hear it sucks.

Its too bad you didnt like the controls on Mario 64. Those were absolutely revolutionary and still provide a model that many of us game developers like to emulate.

As for the N64 controller, I just could not stand having the control stick in theh center of the controller. I could not control it and use the trigger and all the other buttons at the same time. I still played a lot because I love Mario and Zelda games. If Nintendo hadn't returned back to a standard type controller for the GameCube I probably would not have gotten one. That would have really been a shame because I have just as much fun with the Cube as I do with my PS2 and XBox.

I am not sure how long the Story Mode is start to finish..I only got a chance to play a little bit..but once you unlock a mini-game in story mode you can play it anytime you want in "memories" mode.....also there are a lot of unlockables and stuff in story mode, hidden rabbits to find..enought to justify the $29.99 I spent. And really the mini-games are very good- I spent an hour playing the "Candle" game where you have to blow on the touch screen. I mean this thing stole most of last night away from ESPN College Hoops 2k5..and Halo 2..is that wrong?

Also, my girlfriend (who hates playing videgames) loves my DS. I have shown her a few of the mini games in Mario and Feel the Magic..now she is thinking she wants one for Christmas...nice work Nintendo!

BTW, how is The Urbz...wanted to get that too.

Yeah, a demo comes with the DS. You get like the training level...but you also get a multiplayer demo that i hear is very good.

I think the Ds will be the portable of FPS, RTS, and action RPGs games. The touch screen is just as good as a mouse....Diablo 2 DS anyone?
