I know xbox claimed a free upgrade to all last gen games which pressures Sony to do the same. I still don't quiet believe on day 1 everything will instantly be better so we will see how that unfolds.

That's a good point so now your looking at coming out 4-5 months before the ps5. Since it was already pushed back that should give them to have something ready to go at the ps5 launch. Do they just come out with a patch and we use the ps4 disk ? Do they sell it in a ps5 box with other improvements and a short DLC ? Is their some sort of way to do both ?

I'm still willing to hold off on playing this for the ps4 if I know day 1 I'm going to get a better game.

I think it will have a ps5 patch the day ps5 comes out.

It does put more pressure on Sony to follow suit. If they don't or companies aren't willing, then it would come off as anti-consumer.
It really depends on follow the same path as Microsoft. I imagine that with Backwards Compatible that the PS4 version with play as is on PS5 with probable performance upgrades. But hopefully they have own version of Smart Delivery.

I think with that 4-5 month difference, that gives them time to update the game with patches and still have a day 1 upgrade/PS5 version. I already sold my consoles, so I have no choice but to wait. But I would wait regardless. Especially if it was ready day one for PS5. If this game looks good now, I cant wait to see it run on PS5 with most likely native 4k 60 FPS

I was always nervous they were going to make this game a ps5 exclusive at some point so i'm glad we have a iron clad release date. Playing this game with Japanese language on and English subtitles has me hyped.

State of Play announced for Thursday May 14th at 4pm EST which will focus solely and entirely on Ghost of Tsushima. Will be approximately 18 minutes.

I'm super hyped as Tsushima has been my second most anticipated game since E3 2018.

I'm very anxious for it as well so it should be real gameplay they show. Sony is already in a amazing place with exclusives going into ps5. If this game can just be like a 8/10 and a fun experience it will be icing on the cake.

Just finished watching the State of Play for Ghost of Tsushima and it looks superb. Has some cool stuff in it like how you find the locations that you waypoint on the world map. HUD was off and only appeared at certain points.

I'm hoping that I can customize the HUD like AC Odyssey which lets you turn on/off everything. Also, I do hope that there's an actual waypoint system for those who don't want to use their setup. Also, there's parts of gameplay that are in wide screen mode for some reason. I have to look into this more as I have never been a fan of having black bars on the top and the bottom of the screen.

Overall though, im still very hyped and if anything, even more pissed off at whoever leaked/hacked/whatever TLOUP2 because it forced Tsushima to be pushed back three weeks from it's original June 26th release date.

Got I saw the game play video when i was at work on just my phone and even on my phone it looked good. Just watched it a second time and i am already in love with the music just sounds so good and the details in the game are just out of this world. Crazy how good the graphics are and looks like there is going to be a lot to this game. I get some zelda botw vibes to with the world. Crazy to think how it could look even better later in the year when it gets a ps5 patch. I may have to play the game a like second time when ps5 comes out later this year.

I also just saw these good details. Some interesting things to know.

Exploration

Open world map with no real waypoints.

There will be several different ways for the game to guide you.

The wind can literally guide you. You will be able to press a button at any time to summon the "guiding wind."

Small birds will appear along side you to guide you to points of interest.

Foxes will show you the way to shrines and other neat places.

There are smokestacks and bonfires around the map to show you where people are that could use your help.

Shrines will give you extra charm points that can be used to upgrade Jin.

Gameplay

Samurai: Looks to be the basic, honorable samurai.

Will be able to challenge enemies to a Samurai Showdown where you can basically wait for one side to make the first move.

The focus will be on being efficient with combat. You do not want to waste any energy.

Jin will flick his sword to remove the blood before he re-sheathes it.

Ghost: Will be the more stealth based approach.

Assignations will be key.

Fireworks and smokebombs can be used for distraction and obscuring your movement.

Kunai can be used for quick, ranged kills.

Jin will have a grappling hook to reach places as well as cross gaps. (Unknown if this is only for Ghost gameplay.)

Customization

Customization is not just cosmetic.

You will be able to collect charms to give your outfit mechanical upgrades. (No specifics given yet.)

Flowers across the map will allow you to customize the color of your outfit. (Probably just cosmetic.)

*Special modes'

Japanese Voice Over: Will be an option before you load the first scene. So if you want that experience from the beginning, you will have it!

Samurai Cinema: A special filter that makes the game black and white with wind constantly blowing, along with a film grain to mimic the old samurai films. They want the game to have a truly cinematic look.

Photo mode: The standard options of depth of field, saturation, and such will be there, but you will also be able to control the wind direction and speed, as well as the particles flying in it

I wasn't that impressed by the video, to be honest. It looked like a lot of other games I've played before. I'm still looking forward to seeing it after it releases and getting impressions, but I'll be interested in what you all think after it's out.
