People always have to find something to blame their problems on so they look to what's readily accessible. If anyone is dumb enough to take cues from a video game on how to go about life then they need to be locked up because obviously they already had some problems before they started playing the game.
Plus if they weren't seeing this stuff in video games theyd see it somewhere else. TV, Movies, School, the news.

The problem is that games do "influence" kids. While it may not be the main factor of somebody doing a copy-cat crime for every case, it does play a part in some of them.

I'm not suggesting a game like GTA should be banned (after all I'm a supporter for civil liberties and choices) I'm just saying there are negative effects.

How is it going to have so much of an affect that it actually forces someone to do something?

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Very easily for some because some people want to copy what they see. Also some people have a hard time seperating fantasy from reality.

well most of those kids cant buy the game without a adult anyway. so it should fall on the adult that buys it for them if they do something stupid.

Not everybody that plays the game owns it. Some borrow it from their friends or cousins.

If you punish the adult you're going down a slippery slope. What if an older brother bought his young brother who is 17 GTA for a BDay gift and then the 17 year old goes out and kills 3 people? Are you saying the older brother should be punished?
