      Re: Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Episode 2 came out today and Ubisoft all day long been suffering from a huge backlash from female gamers and the LGBQT community because of how Episode 2 ends. They talking boycott and wanting a refund for the entire game. Episode 2 feature naval combat. Started off slow, but the end was a nice plot twist that I didn't see coming.

Today the Creative Director from Assassin's Creed apologized to all the backlash people. Said they will do better next time. The backlash people are still pissed and furious though.

I am so tired of this entitled nonsense. Now I have not played any of the DLC but I have played things I did not like, watched movies, read books that I did not like the ending. But I have never threatened to boycott or create backlash and drama because of it. Be it a game, movie, book what have you. What gives people the right to think they can dictate how that vision is told or expressed.

Like back in the day. I hated the originally ending of the Mass Effect Trilogy. But I went "ugh well that sucked" and went and played something else. Ive read a book I didn't like, well I just dont buy any more books of that author. I don't like horror movies, so I just don't go to horror movies. MY opinion is no more important than anyone elses and I truly believe nobody really gives two shakes about it either. LOL

I mean come on folks, this virtue signalling and faux outrage over everthing just needs to stop. It is getting really old.

And this is the curse of the internet and social media. It’s sad. So what I do is not choose to read the outrage and feed that fire. I just avoid it. I read an article about this supposed outrage and was like...ok moving on.

I also agree Bullit the point about this entitled me me me generation. It’s just out of hand at this point. And it also signals we are old. Really old brother LOL.

This is the youth of today.

I liked things better when we did not have smart phones and social media. The internet? I love that. But it has become so saturated and the 24/7 cycle is just destroying the human soul......and for the love of god I simply don’t care about every single solitary opinion on everything. That is what Facebook has become. A political platform......when it first started it was simply a way to reconnect with old friends.

            Now?

I can’t even read it. And I don’t. Pure nonsense and garbage.

I still love message boards. I read the topics I like, and the sense of community is cool in some of the sub forums here.

But again....social media is destroying things more than helping things. Kids today......they don’t communicate to each other like we used to. They rage on social media instead and cyber bullying is brutal and the most cruel way of destroying self esteem. I am starting to rant I know.....camera’s, video....privacy is almost null and void...crazy times.

In other news......I look forward to actually playing this title in the near future. It looks like a really epic game and setting.

This 100%. Why people can't just play the games for what they are as opposed to what they want them to be is beyond me. I have no problem with whatever direction Ubisoft goes in with AC because well, they're the ones developing the game, not me. Can't wait to play both expansions for what they are, in the summer once they are both complete.

I wonder if we could get them to cave and get rid of all the “captured/thin the herd” missions in Far Cry 5, since apparently, they can be told how to make their video games if the right people complain. 🙄

                            I'll absolutely buy a remastered AC3.

It was my favorite of the series.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey: Gold Edition is on sale for $59.99 in the Playstation Store until February the 19th. That gets you the Season Pass, so 2 DLCs and Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered when it's released. Might be time to pull the trigger. That's a pretty good deal.
