Re: Assassin's Creed Odyssey
While you can have two melee wheels we are still limited to 4 assassin/warrior moves at one time. What are your main four moves?
For me healing and shield break are my automatics. The other two can vary but I like the Bull Rush. It’s a good AOE attack and also helps me close the distance on ranged enemies that annoy me. I like the scatter/explosion one if I am surrounded by enemies or on a boat (knocks more than one in water sometimes). I think Assassin Hero strike and Warrior extra damage (very top one lol) can be good too. I haven’t messed with the time slow much. I used to love Sparta kick early on. Especially for kicking people off ledges. But I got away from it later.

I run more assassin skills. First Wheel is Poison top, healing left, shockwave/crowd control right, Hero Strike down. Hunter wheel is only Arrow rain top, spread shot right and the most useful hunter skill, Predator shot. Second melee wheel is only Fire, Sparta kick and Battlecry of Ares.
I prefer to sneak around, always fun to stab a guard right as they're saying "What the Fu---!"
First Blade done, currently on episode 2 of Atlantis. Will post full thoughts on both DLCs after, but(Atlantis episode 2 spoilers)Spoilerit was so nice to help and see Phoebe againLast edited by LambertandHam; 05-10-2020, 01:05 PM.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Took some time to digest the DLCs, totally finished the game aside from stamps that nets nothing.
DLC, End Game and other AC spoilers ahead. Alexios run.
First Blade
SpoilerYou can tell it had a different writing team behind it. I liked Neema, was capable and the VA was fine. Darius was brooding and kind of flat to me. I really liked what they did with "The Order" and especially with the mind games. They felt more threatening at times than The Cult and hit harder.
A lot of the DLC was forgettable to me, had a kid with Neema, but was irked Alexios couldn't go back and show his family since they all lived in my playthrough. Also don't get why Alexios left Neema and the kid alone to help Darius when he pretty much accepted his death at that point. Did like the ending where you meet the Persian kings son and Darius goes to raise the baby who becomes to protagonist of Origins.
Then nothing else is ever mentioned about the kid, Neema, Darius, nothing. The big bad talked up the whole time dies anticlimactically and that's it. You got a flamethrower for the boat that kinda(?) works and an interesting plot line about the Sea Captain being a "Tainted One" but that was pretty much it.
Atlantis
SpoilerI enjoyed this DLC more than First Blade. I spoiled myself to the ending because I did The Cult bit first that flashed a bunch of images including Alexios passing the staff over. Still enjoyed seeing present day Alexios and his nice suit. I didn't kill Pythagoras, did it peacefully. Was interesting to meet the Isu again, since the last Assasin's Creed game I played was the Ezio ones where I think Juno starts talking to Desmond through the game instead of Ezio.
Persephone was interesting enough, Hermes was kind of an ******* that got mad at me randomly(didn't kill the captains or give him the weapon), Hekate was a trickster. The choices meant absolutely nothing. The game made the Dark Horse bit seem like it would matter, I took it back to Hades and nothing happened. It was neat to meet and fight with Leonidas. Didn't kill him, had to lure the other guy to Persephone by setting myself on fire with arrows because of the buggy AI.
Had Persephone side with me, still got kicked down to Hades. I enjoyed Hades the most. Phoibe quest was nice, they kind of strong armed Brasidas, had him stay in the underworld to help. Charon's quests were interesting enough, lots of morality. Didn't kill Elpenor, Neptune won the bet over Hades, Hades fight was nice but kind of underwhelming.
Atlantis itself was a missed opportunity to me. Writing was really weird at times, lot of random quests imho. "Complete your knowledge bar!" Did, nothing happened outside of one room. Got the armor, had all the Archons live, had Elpis live and take over, saved the humans over checking out the door. Atlantis was destroyed and none what I did mattered at all.
A lot of the Atlantis quests felt disjointed and rushed. Like where you have to help the Archon with the healing cloth, dude explodes, tried again and then it just showed random people mulling around.
Sorry for the long post, just some thoughts. Overall for the sale price I got everything at, 22-24$ or so on PSN, I'm fine with the DLC.SpoilerIf I paid full price for it, I'd be a little irked at the shoddiness of the writing at times and meaningless choices.Last edited by LambertandHam; 05-21-2020, 09:06 PM.Comment

Wish I had known you were playing with Alexios and I would have not looked at the spoilers. I played as Kassandra and the story was a little different.Oh well. I guess I'll probably forget what I read before I do another play-thru using him, this time.

Re: Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Wasn't my intention, sorry on that. I heard Kass was the better VA/character, but I figured I could always enjoy NG+ as her down the road.
I'm onto janky AC3 right now.Comment

From what I remember reading(DLC spoilers)Spoilermain game seems to be the same aside from motion cap and some dialogue, but the main story should be about the same.
The First Blade changes story wise a bit.
For me it isn't enough to want to go through the game right away again, but it's a different option.Last edited by LambertandHam; 05-22-2020, 01:56 AM.Comment

As of right now I don't have much interest in Mirage, that will be another $20 purchase...if I even decide to get that one.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: Assassin's Creed Odyssey
This as well as Origins held up extremely well imo, I just picked up both gold editions for $20 and visit mainly origins first...I am probably one of the few that enjoy this trilogy (Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla).

But yeha, getting all three games at a discount is definitely worth it, tons of hours of playtime there, albeit a bit same-yComment
