Re: The Division 2
Doesn't feel like I've missed a step after two hours in the beta before work today. And I've also fallen back into my old habits already. I fired up the beta, got to the White House, started heading toward the Theater to meet up with I forget her name, and it proceeded to take me an hour and a half to go 0.5 kilometers, because I spent so much time running off in other directions to loot things and explore buildings and side streets.
It ended up taking me over two hours just to get to my first mission location, work my way through the building and beat the boss. I'm right back at home like I was in the first game, lol.
Now I just have to learn the map. I spent so much time exploring the streets of New York City, I eventually got to the point I never had to look at the map, I knew where I was, where I was going and where I needed to be by what area I was in, what street I was on and the landmarks. Gotta do the same thing for Washington DC now.
And has it been said what the map size comparison is between the first game and the second game? I'm guessing there is more ground to cover between blocks and between different districts than there was in the first game, so it's probably overall a larger map on foot, but when pulling up the map, based strictly on appearance, it just looks and seems so much smaller than New York City's map.Comment

Re: The Division 2
I hear you smooth. I did not play the first installment, but I got this one free with my new CPU purchase. I explored and looted way more than I should have! I will definitely be upgrading from the base version if possible.Comment

Re: The Division 2
The good thing about this being in DC is that it won’t take me long at all to find my way around the city whereas in the first one, I was checking that map every 5 mins, lol.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: The Division 2
Playing on the One X and this is a pretty boring game honestly. Cover, shoot, cover, shoot. Rinse and repeat. Run a long way to find the baddies who take cover behind a piece of sheet metal that an AK can't penetrate. Health bars for barricaded doors? Lame. I've had numerous instances where the audio cuts in out mid fire fight. NPC's disappearing or just won't shut up. The audio mixing in this game is just plain bad.
The guns don't have that pop to them like the first one did. Have had multiple freezes. NYC was a way more interesting environment than DC. No one does trash bags and random rats and deer running around better than Ubisoft, so there's that. Frankly, I'm pretty surprised by the positive reception this beta is getting and Anthem is being torn apart.
Anthem: Gameplay and environment
Division: Content and polish
Never thought I'd say this, but both of these games make me appreciate Destiny way more now.Last edited by Scary Larry; 03-02-2019, 02:17 PM.Comment

Re: The Division 2
Ok...if it's that obvious, tell me what else? You sure as hell can't run and gun in it. The backbone to the combat is a straight up a cover shooter. Thats what this game is. This game is boring. Unless you like to run for 5 minutes with no fast travel. Which would be fine if the world was at all interesting.Comment

You can definitely run and gun with the appropriate build.
There is fast travel.
You can try to say what you’re saying about pretty much any game you want. Doesn’t mean it’s going to be accurate. You’re also judging the whole world map based on a couple beta areas. Obviously not that fair.Last edited by ricky24; 03-02-2019, 08:40 PM.Comment

Re: The Division 2
Game is a few weeks from launch. Think it’s fair at this point. Anthem is fun to play. Gameplay and the environment blows TD2 away. That said, Destiny 2 is still the best at this genre.

Re: The Division 2
Played 11 hours (for the most part) straight yesterday and really enjoyed the game but a few changes that were made kind of annoy me.
First, the buffs that you get in the first game by drinking water, eating food, etc. no longer do any of that which is disappointing. Second, I remember having specialty bullets like fire which is in TD2 but you can't select it. It's automatic which I don't like. Third, im not a fan of the armor system. I wouldn't mind it if there were still med kits but it's basically just replacing the health and give you more for less, I guess. Don't really like these changes.
Other than that, do enemies keep re-spawning because I went through the same areas more than once to do side activities that are meant to clear out the district? In 11 hours, I still had two main missions, a side mission or two and a safe house to unlock which by the way, how do I unlock the safe houses?
Other than that, everything is better and a lot deeper. My biggest issue is getting into too many shootouts outside of missions. Hoping the final game lessens this and that you can select a difficulty level for the main story missions because I noticed it said "story" and I hope it's not where you have to replay the story missions. Prefer to play on hard once for the story missions and that's it.
Still day one though. Loved the first game and just need to get back into it since it has been three years since I played the first game.Comment

Re: The Division 2
Gotta love people saying the AI is good in this game. Like when they run toward and past you while you shoot them in the face and they cover somewhere behind you? Or when they go prone and shoot at you, but they are behind some desk and there is no line of sight to actually hit you? Or when they spam nade after nade with pinpoint accuracy? Lolz.
