    Re: The Division 2

I commented to a buddy after playing this beta for a few hours that it will be interesting to me to see how much more polish the game gets at release. I'm not going to do direct comparison yet with beta; however, outside of less loading screens, it is similar issues to anthem that gets bashed based on enemies and things just disappearing out of nowhere, and at one point I through a turret through a door which I hadn't opened yet.

Overall I think D2 looks good and I think it'll be a nice loot shooter. I'm looking for something either way to take time away from OW, and this game may end up being it depending on how anthem progresses (or not). Overall my opinion is probably going to be a good game, but coming out of a world where you're flying around in a suit to just running around in streets just made it seem more bland than what it really is.

The enemies as well still seem super spongy like first one and at the point with first boss I simply sat and shot him for 20 seconds as he was turned around firing ainlessly at the NPC drone that just hovered above his head.

I'm interested to see the reception this game gets comparative to other loot based games that have seemed to be getting dismantled non stop. I don't see much differentiation , which is not a bad thing to me personally because I don't know what more there can be to a loot based shooter than just going around and shooting stuff over and over which is what this game delivers on.

You played the beta and didnt like. Don't buy the game. Why you would continue to post about it here though is what I am trying to figure out.

      Move on dude.

Are enemies able to actually go prone? I didn’t think that was a thing in Division.

Played another five hours in the Beta and am done until launch. Enemies are insane. Sending a remote controlled car trying to blow me up, laying prone on the ground and even suicide bombers. Can't wait for March 15th!!!

                  Re: The Division 2

Me and my cousin completed the beta last night and our experience was a mix.

On one hand the gameplay is fun, the skills are fun to pair together, and it was an enjoying 5 hours through Washington.

On the other hand it is plagued by what I consider a big downfall of all these loot based shooters. Poor/repetitive missions. This is one area I think Ghost Recon Wildlands doesn't get it's fair due. A ton of missions and many feel completely different. Granted the gameplay doesn't revolve around loot drops but instead successfully completing the missions. It still does a far better job than Destiny, The Division, and Anthem(I'm assuming here, but I have read it's more of the same) at feeling like a singleplayer story game but with friends. I don't understand why these games will throw "Protect the city water system" side missions 20 times throughout the map and all have the exact same layout, structure, and even enemy wave mentality at the player. I get the gist of it taking time and planning to build & make sure missions work correctly BUT I think as a whole people are getting tired of these shortcomings from the loot based coop games.

Give me a Marvel 4 player coop with dynamic and interesting missions. Fighting awesome villains with friends, giant wars of minions on the streets of New York, to battling another race of being on a distant planet. There is so much potential for a good 4 player hero coop title. Someone just has to take the time and do it correctly.

Yeah, that’s not what division is for the most part. There are plenty of games like that though. I’m sure the missions will feel less repetitive in the full version. Even more as the game receives more content drops. Repetitive play style and missions is never going away with loot shooters though. This is why I work with different builds to keep it feeling fresh.

Trust me, I get it and have played my share of them to understand the nature of the design. My faulting of it, is because it's growing long in the tooth and something loot shooter's need to move past. A good long coop experience with varied mission design while still retaining the grind & randomness which makes loot based shooters entertaining could still be retained in my opinion.

It surely isn't a walk in park for developers, but one area of the genre I'd like to see improved. I enjoy the gameplay loop for a time then get bored with the lack of "new & Interesting".

I think I am with the crowd complaining about repetitiveness. I enjoyed the first few hours gameplay, but then I started to realize it was the same thing over and over. I can see the fun value at times, but there is no way that I could play this game everyday.

EVERY game is repetitive. Like I always say, it simply comes down to "are you enjoying what you're doing in the game to keep doing it over and over again until you complete the game?"

As someone who played the original game solo and completed it 100% in over 100 hours and as someone who played the open beta for 11 hours straight on Saturday and another 5 yesterday, I can honestly say that I'll be doing the same thing over and over again until 100% completion baby!!!

But first things first, come Thursday Devil May Cry 5!!!

Yep. I played the hell out of the first game on Xbox One, then I later bought it again on PS4 when it was on sale super cheap, and played the hell out of it again on the PS4. And I have no doubt I'm going to play the hell out of this game.

It took me an hour and a half to go 0.5 kilometers straight down a single road, because I was so busy exploring and wandering off in every direction other than the direction I was supposed to be going, because there is so much stuff to find by exploring side streets and alleys and building interiors. Some of my best weapons and gear in the first game, before I started getting specialized gear and named boss farming, came from finding crates inside buildings and buried in alleys.

Watching the State of the Game video and holy crap, the insane amount of content that's in the game and even more so after you beat the story campaign. It's like when you finish the game, it begins again. It's insane.
