    Re: The Elder Scrolls VI

I'm guessing a 2020 release at the earliest. Probably longer however.

I love this series so much.

They certainly wouldn't be the first. Look at Cyberpunk 2077. It was first announced clear back in 2012 and it still has probably another year or two before we'll see it release. Death Stranding and Ghosts of Tsushima have been known for at least a year or two now, and still no idea if either of them will even release in the next two years or longer. There are many other games that took multiple years to come out since they were first announced.

The fact Todd Howard said it's still in pre-production, and that Starfield seems to be their main focus to release next after the release of Fallout 76, makes me think it's going to be a couple years before we see any hint of a release date on TES VI.

Yeah I see your point with cyberpunk. However I just don't see them going over a decade between releases. That's a long *** time in the video game world. And I'm not sure I fully believe Todd when he says it's only in pre-production.

It certainly isn't good marketing, but it isn't uncommon in this industry. Look at Mount and Blade: Bannerlord also.

I thought the same thing about the decade plus interval between ES 5 and 6, but two things changed my mind. The announcement of Fallout 76-if Starfield had been released this year, like this summer, I could have seen ES6 follow along maybe 18 months later, but now no way- Also I hear that ESO is raking in a lot of cash, so that gives them more of an incentive to wait until next gen for ES6

I agree though that it is further along than pre-production.

I'll add that if Fallout 76 crushes it, then FO 5 may not come for more than a decade as well or, very cynically, maybe ever. They might have Obsidian or someone else do a New Vegas type game instead of doing it themselves.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

By the time this game comes out, guys in here could have kids, get married, start a new job and work there for years, graduate college, a lot of things.

                Duke Nukem Forever? lol

It is does seem odd to announce a game and then not release it for another 4-5 years. We're already at the far end of the timeline Bethesda has shown between releases for one of their series (7 years between Fallout 3 & 4). That being said, we do know that there is a new IP they are devoting resources too so maybe it isn't that far fetched to think that we will have 10 years between Elder Scrolls entries.

Never would have thought we would go this entire generation of consoles without a new ES game, yet it is probably going to happen. Way too long.

Yet we got 2 fallouts. Smh.

                    I also blame ESO.

ESO didn't do it for me. It was missing so many features from skyim that I was used to.
