In my opinion the xbox is a much better console but in terms of sales, the ps2 obviously won.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I actually wanna buy a DC to see what the fuss was about. I guess it was to ahead of its time back then. Or Sega never marketed it right. Or Sony crushed them from the get-go.

Sega marketed it but I think they just about stopped as soon as the ps2 came out. The dreamcast had some really great games and was the first system that had really great graphics. Look at sonic adventure 1, those are some great graphics.

exactly...PS2 has optional voice communication, and each game has its own friends list, annoying as hell. I hate playing PS2 online, but that's because Xbox Live has totally spoiled me

For its time, the Dreamcast was the greatest system I've ever owned. So many innovations -- online gaming, visual memory unit, unit controller with analog triggers, a fantastic, quirky library of games, the first 128-bit console with graphics that still stand up fairly well today ... ah, I'm getting misty just thinking about the memories.

The DC died for a few reasons. One, Sega couldn't market water in the Sahara. Two, Sega still was hurting financially from the death of the Genesis, and it banked its hardware future on the DC. Risky move that failed. Three, EA never supported the DC. And when the software colossus of the industry ignores you, it's tough to succeed. Four, Sony generated so much pre-release buzz with the PS2 that Sega was overwhelmed.

Very sad. The DC was one incredible system. Most fun I've ever had with a gaming system, and I go back to the Atari 2600 days.

There really isn't any debate - the PS2 has dominated this console like the NES dominated the Master System.

The XBOX is a great piece of equipment, but the PS2 is King.

Now as for the next generation? That will be a different story, I predict . . .
Been gaming since the Atari 2600, and hells no I won't stop!!!
