Yeah I get that, aiming definitely takes more skill with a controller. I like the point and click aspect of the computer aiming but I just can’t enjoy having to use keys to throw nades and use skills etc. It just seems inconvenient when the controller alternative is just to click RB or LB.

Downloaded this on pc as well. I don’t know how the hell you guys play these games on a keyboard. I like the movement and shooting but once you start getting other keys involved besides the standard moving buttons and the e key I’m a dead man walking. Like by the time I figure out how to throw a nade I’m toast lmao.
At this point, mouse and keyboard is pure muscle memory but it didn't take 20 years to form. It's all how often you practice! For instance, I have a buddy who has never played PC games ever in his life. He recently bought his first ever PC and let me tell you if he can learn to play shooters like PUBG, APEX, etc with our squad then anyone can lol. Stick with it and you will slowly improve each day until you will re-read this post and think "DAMN!! I've come a long way!".

Re: Apex Legends, Battle Royale Game made by the devs from Titanfall (Free)
I'm been gaming on PC since the late 80s, 1988 or so. 5-1/4" floppy PC games, text based dungeon crawlers, DOS based fishing game, side scrolling space shooters, were all a big part of my childhood. I gamed on a console for many years but never drifted to far from PC gaming. I don't own a console any longer, and it has helped my PC shooter skills by not splitting time on the sticks.
At this point, mouse and keyboard is pure muscle memory but it didn't take 20 years to form. It's all how often you practice! Think about it, it's literally the same thing on a keyboard "just click Q or E". It's all buttons manipulated by finger movements, while neither I'd say is harder than the other.
Q and E are fine. They are right there. Maybe I just need to remap but I could have sworn the game was asking me to use keys that were a pain to get to. Once a game starts asking me to use more than ctrl, space, a, s, d, w, e, q I’m pretty much out on it if it is a shooter. It becomes easier with a controller at that point. I’ll give it another shot though.Comment

I’ll give it another shot though.
1)- Step 1: Mouse DPI 400
. - Step 2: Buy a big mouse pad, I use a Logitech G640 which is 16" tall X 18" wide. Now with a tiny white sharpie, mark the lower bottom edge of mouse pad 12" to 14" from white mark to white mark.
. - Step 3: In-game when you first launch a new game go into mouse sensitivity controls. Place your left mouse edge on left white mark, slowly drag mouse until right mouse edge touches right white mark. You want this movement to equal to roughly 180 degrees of character movement. I line my characters left shoulder on a wall and adjust sensitivity until one swipe mark to mark spins me 180 until my right should is looking other way down wall.
. - Step 4: Your mouse aim will seem SLOW at first, stick with it and it will improve your aim in competitive shooters.
. - Step 5: Do this for every game when you first launch and every single game will feel exactly the same when you reach for the mouse. I also have a text document on my PC which I record the in-game sensitivity for each game in case something happens and I lose my settings.
2)- Step 1: Find your favorite control scheme for the average actions. For me it's..
WASD = Movement
F = Interaction
C = Crouch
Z = Prone
X = Rate of fire change
Q/E = Lean or abilities(when lean isn't in game)
R = Reload
CAPS = VOIP
CTRL = ability
ALT = Free look
Mouse thumb back = Throwables
Mouse thumb forward = Heals
Middle mouse = Open to options
Basically avoid having to use G for grenades or B for change rate of fire for instance, these are long finger movements which developers don't make the best decisions on. Don't hand cuff yourself to those control schemes.
. - Step 2: Setup your controls in each game when you first launch it. Practice doing this and now all your binds are consistent between titles (for the most part). Plus everything is easily within reach and your not forcing yourself to adjust to some wonky developer idea of what you should have to press. If you don't believe me on that, attempt to play The Divison on PC, they have controls mapped across the keyboard.
These 2 things are small in nature but when done consistently across all your games, it means every time you fire up a game on your PC, it feels & reacts exactly the same.Last edited by Phobia; 02-20-2019, 02:50 PM.Comment

Great tips on the mouse sensitivity. I use 400DPI for CSGO and 900DPI for every other shooter. Don't know how or why I do this it's just something I've always done.
I've always just went off feel for sensitivity. It's hard to explain but I just know how much I want my "character" to move when I swipe my mouse from one side to the other. If I was a newbie in the PC gaming space I'd definitely try out your recommendation for finding the right sensitivity but I don't want to mess with something that works for me personally. I use a combo of arm movement and wrist movement. Wrist movement for micro adjustments and arm movement of the wider range of movement. If I were to give a new PC gamer a tip it would be to learn to use your elbow as a pivot point and not soley rely on your wrist for aim.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Maybe it’s because of 60 players and squads but I have already won like 12 matches in this game. A record easy for me in BR.

I never thought the day would come but I finished a match as the kill leader. Only 5 kills but still probably the most or 2nd most I’ve ever had. I’m always the weak link on my squad but for this one miracle game, both my teammates got downed and I went 1 on 4, killed them all, revived my teammates, and then finished it off with the final kill to win the match.
I’m retiring.

Man I've missed so many funny clips because shadowplay just wasn't working at times, but this one was great. Caustic trap as a last ditch effort and guy happened to be 1 hp too.

I think that's definitely part of it. I'm around 25 wins. Wish we had more detailed stat tracker.Comment

Ended up grabbing three wins this morning. It’s definitely easier to win in this game than other BRs for me, it seems.Comment

I suck so much that I would've knocked down the first guy then been killed by the guy on the 2nd level who would then revive his teammate robbing me of adding even 1 Kill to my measly stats.Comment

I am incredibly bad at this game. Started off decent when it first came out but now I am lucky to get 1 kill every couple games. I am just too slow I guess, I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Man 2000 damage is a tough badge to get, you really gotta pop off. Just had my best game yet with 12 kills and the win. I really thought I had at least 2k damage since I was lasering everyone with the r99.
Had a nice 1v3 clutch to save the game after killing 2 just before. Apologies for the double audio, my game was ****ed up that round and I was hearing everything twice too.
