Re: Ghost Recon: BreakPoint
So my friend, who loved Wildlands, one of his favorite games ever, was going to buy this today but he went down the rabbit hole of negative YouTube videos and decided not to buy it.
It sucks because we played Wildlands together and has so much fun, and I really think he would like it, but he is taking YouTube "reviewers" words over mine. So frustrating.
I'm the one who convinced him to get Wildlands when he didn't think he would like it. UghComment

Re: Ghost Recon: BreakPoint
The whole drink water thing is useless and pointless. All it does is restore fatigue, which is pointless. After you stop running your stamina meter fills back up in like 5 seconds. I don't even bother with it anymore, used it once just to do it. Same thing with all those plants and stuff you can collect. Pointless. 10 minutes buffs from that if you craft something ? Yep, useless.
Also thought the bivoac would much better looking. Just a pup tent. I swear back in April or May they showed a way better looking bivoac that was huge and completely camouflaged. The one they have in the game now, you just sitting out in the open next to a camp fire. That bummed me out. Cracked the 100s this evening, pretty stoked about that. Another pointless thing is the diversion lure. It only lasts 5 seconds and the enemy AI don't seem to be attracted to it at all. Used it 5 times, they didn't even pay attention to it.
The pointless things in the game aside, I am enjoying myself. Who knows when they will patch in your AI teammates. All they said it will be some times within the first year of their first year plan. That is a bummer. I am digging the sheer number of side missions and faction missions. I am doing a lot of those. Finally did another main mission though. So far the main missions storyline wise aren't as appealing as the faction and side missions. There might be TOO MANY vehicles all over the place though. It is also way too easy to locate a bunch of bivoacs.
Like I said days ago. Just fly your drone in the air, zoom in and do a 360 sweep. You will find a bunch of locations and bivoacs from thousands of meters away. Then you can just fast travel to them. So yeah they made that part too easy, just like the over abundance of vehicles everywhere. You are never too far from a pair of motorcycles parked on the side of the road with 2 enemy AI just chilling talking to each other. Also a good number of boats and helicopters all over the place for you to take too. But really you can just fast travel and cut your travel time 90%.
Don't like that C4 is pretty SMH. Can't blow up a door. Couldn't blow up a bulldozer looking thing either. But yet I shoot the bull doozer with my gun 6 times it blows up, go figure. Game does have an allure about it. The lighting is pretty excellent. Weather effects is so so. The Division 2 had better weather effects. So far I give the game a 8 out of 10. Did it live up to the hype ? No. But it is indeed fun. Playing with other people, you may find this game extremely easy though just like Wildlands. I mean I am breezing pretty steadily doing it solo with no problem, so I can only imagine doing it with other people would be 20 times easier.
Just wished it was more realistic. I mean hell Red Dead Redemption 2 even required you to eat and think about weather. This game, eating just a 1 hour buff to health. So eating isn't required. Drinking water isn't required. The zoom on your binoculars are way weaker then your drone. So yeah they missed the mark on that one. Everything is just a temporary buff to some stat. Pointless really. Oh well, I am still having fun and enjoying myself, Uplay+ made it worth while to download since I am subscribed anyway. I can see myself playing for quite a while.Comment

Re: Ghost Recon: BreakPoint
The more I play this game, the more I like it. It has it's issues. I'm sure there will be tons of patches. But I'm having a lot of fun.
I'm trying to infiltrate the Skell estate and it's hard as hell. Trying different tactics is fun. I really don't get some of the hate this game is getting. Once you get out into the world it's like a more alive, living and breathing Wildlands.Comment

Re: Ghost Recon: BreakPoint
You don't really capture them. The goal is usually to either capture and or interrogate and enemy or gather intel in some other way. And that will point you in the direction you need to go next to finish the mission.Comment

Re: Ghost Recon: BreakPoint
Can someone please post the HDR white paper settings and intensity. It had default vales in there and then I accidentally set it to default and the values are at 100."Im all jacked up on mountain dew!"

Re: Ghost Recon: BreakPoint
I tried scrolling through all the values but it's hard to even see what should be right. I have a Sony X900f and it does pretty good HDR so I would really like to get the right settings.Comment

Re: Ghost Recon: BreakPoint
I think Gears of War 5 or one of the Assassin's Creeds thoroughly explained HDR paper white settings and all that jazz. Proper way to set it is to look at clouds in the sky. You want it white, but not too white where as you don't see the detail in the clouds. Or you could judge it by looking at the moon at night. But clouds in the sky or snow on the ground is the easiest.
If you look at a dark area and it is grey looking, then you have it too high. Intensity can really be left at 85 or 90 at the most. To be honest, no OLED get that bright, so no need to go above 90.Comment

I mean I sniped people in moving helicopters too, so that have to be beyond 300m when they flying in the air.Comment
