Didn't really make time to play the beta, will give it a shot with U+ though.

But I think the 3 AI teammates are still with you.

I actually kinda think it sucks, but I didn't wanna voice that on the forum and ruin anyone's fun..lol. Just hearing this game tied to those games in any capacity (fair or unfair) is an instant red flag for my brain and I'm struggling to get over the hurdle.

I'm glad that head shots register regardless, though. I watched some video and it didn't look too spongy
Maybe but you can't tick off your fanbase in the process of making it different while making it like something else at the same time.
GR has been its own game as far as i remember on consoles dating back to the original xbox.

Once they first got rid of your teammates then added parts of the division to the game, of course the long time fans would be livid, and rightfully so.

I agree with you on the division 2. I got it free and dropped it because its just not what im looking for.

I wonder sometimes what Rianbow 6 wouldve been like had they kept it on the track of what it used to be. R6 Vegas was one of the best games they've made.

            Re: Ghost Recon: BreakPoint

Oh, what Rainow Six could have been, and this series. I have enjoyed both R6 Siege and Wildlands, I have yet to try this, but it cannot be denied ubisoft has taken both series further from their roots and what their base wants. From a business standpoint you understand it as they've been extremely successful catering to a more casual crowd, but from a gamer standpoint it is very disappointing to see these series transform into what they have compared to where they were.

I know that I said I enjoyed the games, but I also still prefer they were more like the series both used to be. I do not enjoy R6 anymore because it has become too much with all of the operators. It's a silly game to me at this point. If they had a game mode called Classic in there and it was only the vanilla operators or even just recruits only then I'd probably go back to playing that game weekly like I used to.

With Wildlands I love so many aspects and ideas behind the game, but it truly does lack that gritty GR feel I came to love. What's funny is I've still yet to beat Wildlands despite having so many hours in the game. I actually just restarted it from the beginning playing completely in Spanish to try and strengthen my Spanish haha. It feels a bit more authentic playing the game in Spanish which has added to my enjoyment of it.

I do wonder what these games would be like today if they stuck to their roots a bit more, though.

I dont have a problem with change but not just because which seems to be the case with a series like this.

Removing the AI teammates is a terrible idea.

They had already removed the 16 man co op down to like what 4?

Now they wanna add weapon icons. Are we going back to the ps3 era with some of this stuff?

Now what game do you have where you feel like a squad going after the enemy in their territory on missions?..., and I'm not talking about cheesy nailing metal shields on a wall in a house that magically is as big as a mansion inside.

At this point you'd have to do some coop in ARMA to get the old school GR feel and coop play in a modern game. It's just the way the industry has turned. The Socoms and Ghost Recon of the old are not what are viewed as in demand these days. I'm able to enjoy the Tom Clancy games for what they've become, but I definitely would prefer them to be closer to their roots than where they are now.

Of course time has changed, but we hardly get anything like that.

Every game doesnt have to be

                  A. Zombies

                  B. First Person (look at me and my score)

                  C. capture the flag, vs, blah blah blah w/ no cover system

It's boring that shooters are almost all pretty much all online copy cats of each other, just suckier on different levels.

Look around. The world is a copycat world anymore. We say the NFL, MLB, NBA, etc are all copycat leagues. We say games are copying one another anymore. That's the unfortunate reality anymore.

I'm with you a million percent. I wish we had so much more diversity in the AAA market, but it seems like the more technology improves the creativity with it moves in an inverse direction.

Yea, for the most part I moved away from AAA in this modern era and I'm more into older games, AA and indie stuff from smaller studios that aren't trying to appeal to everybody and their grandmas.

So I'm not interested in these modern UBI basterdations, but I do have my eye on this upcoming one called Ready or Not, which looks like more of successor to the SWAT games.

Well no one is even asking for the genre's to conform to the old days, just have some variety.

It makes no sense that every game is run and shoot, battle royal BASED, online multiplayer fps clones.

To be honest its very odd approach seeing that its not successful for everyone anyway.

Remember that first reaction to The Division at E3? Now no one really cares about that game when it could've been huge if they played their cards right.

GR Breakpoint beta doesnt look exactly like the division so far, but throwing in item menus, dead npc weapon lights and gun points are just overkill and unnecessary.

The Division is huge? It is an incredibly popular series at this point. The reason so many games are copying one another is because that is what the industry has become with all forms of media. Movies, games, etc. Everyone is remaking or remastering something. Everyone wants to make a BR game. It's just what is in right now and it continues to take in money so it isn't going to change.

It was driven that way artifically it wasnt an organic change. Once they saw they could get more money from people digitally they just ran with it, and its not even stopping.

Even though infrastructure is not there, theyre still trying ala google stadia

Doesnt matter though, there is money to be made off of other things too they just dont want to do it or let the creativity drive the industry

Like i said COD jumping the shark started the madness, and making everything like Rambo was the beginning of the end.

They did not remove AI teammates. They are in the game.

I'd love to alleviate some concerns with this game, but I don't know if I'm still under a NDA or not.
