    Re: Escape from Tarkov

Nice, on .12 I'm only at 18 at the moment. I've had the game since the 2nd or 3rd week of release that's where a lot of my hours come from. Now in .12 I've put at least 200 of the hours just on this patch alone. The hideout combined with the quest finally feeling worth while, I'm super excited to see the game grow into a full retail product.

I was up to almost 2m in roubles, 15k in cash, and only about 1k in euros (at 750k roubles tonight) but I dump so much roubles & cash into builds I've never focused on the lucky scav box for instance. I think it's because I've been through so many wipes that I know it's all for nothing, so I just focus on good guns & armor. Hell I don't even upgrade the hiddeout unless it's faster health or water/food regen, just so I can get back into my PMC after a scav run quicker. Once full retail drops and the wipes are over THEN I'll focus on finding barter items for upgrades & stash management.

Here is a build I'm slowly working on. Turning an Adar into a long range M4. Just added this new low profile gas block & foregrip. I'm still a few days out from figuring out what sight and attachments I'd like to throw on it. I like that it looks a lot like the Mutant in PUBG!

If we run into one another, I'll be sure to post your dog tag

      Re: Escape from Tarkov

Yea, I've been in since April 2018, but I never put many hours in until the last two wipes, mostly this one, .12. The game is really far ahead of where it used to be when you could heal constantly and the gun fights were riddled with bugs + the instant healing.

I never really built much else up last wipe knowing it would all be gone, and even though I know this wipe will be over around March, I've really enjoyed getting into building a stash up as well as my hideout.

I had a bit of a funny kill last night. Me and a buddy were in bushes outside the bus depot on Customs. We had saw some real beefy guys and were not wanting a fight, so we hid. We were there for two quest items. While in the bush I heard someone slow creeping near us and I was using the alt lean to get a look towards the direction of the sound. I end up seeing the guy maybe 20 feet away at most and go to aim at him. The problem is I'm still holding alt. I right click to ADS and instead you hear the pop of my guy changing his sights. The guy instantly stops and looks right at my bush and I then two tap him in the head and drop him, but it was a bit funny accidentally doing that to the guy. I don't know if he thought I did it on purpose to toy with him before dropping him, but watching him completely stop and turn directly towards my bush made me laugh. I then explained to my buddy the click was accidental because he was wondering wtf I waited to fix my sight.

We ended up watching the beefy boys go into the dorms around 45 minutes, we sat outside the dorms watching and waiting until 17 minutes and went in and the beefy boys were still in there hanging out and they got us. Before they killed me they had thrown at least 6 or 7 flashbangs. I'm not sure if they were checking every corner of the dorms or just camping people coming in there, but it was frustrating that we went ultra passive because we just wanted the quest items before bed and sat as much as we did and in the end it didn't matter. What added to the frustration is we had a clear shot earlier at the bus depot on one of them, but didn't want to take the shot because he was fighting another guy or two and we hadn't even realized he had a buddy at that point so who knows what happens if we take the shot. Either way, I can't be too mad, that's life in Tarkov and we normally aren't that passive anyways.

I know the pain bro, we went in last night on shoreline with gen4 & my 250k+ Adar build. Creeping along shore road in the wood line, only to get one tapped by a mosin sniper from somewhere around lighthouse. Entire setup had to be close to half a million roubles.

It rarely happens but damn it was a kick in the nuts.

          Re: Escape from Tarkov

Had some sick runs tonight. Killed 7 PMC players in 3 raids and came out with some good weapons.

I felt real dirty on one, we got ambushed on shoreline me and my buddy, he got taken out and I managed to retreat and heal back up. Soooooo I camped Road to Customs extract point hoping they would make their way. 5 min left in the map, here they come. I hit them with a grenade an opened up on them. Taking the first down instantly, second one managed to land a shot on my visor and shattered the shield. I then pulled a long flank around as he did the worst thing he could have.....he sat in the same location and I pulled out the ol trusted silenced mosin. First shot didn't put him down so he took off sprinting. I then went for a leg shot which crippled him and started limping. At which point it was an easy finish with a shot to the back of the head.

Here is a few of the kits they were running...

While the servers were down last night I had a little fun making my first MP7 and running it in some offline raids. This thin is a laser and I can't wait to use it in a real raid.

Yea it is!! The amount of rounds it spits out fast means you will be packing mags often lol.

                Re: Escape from Tarkov

I finished up the Adar build this morning. I went the route of medium range silent with a 45 degree optional close range sight.

I also decked out an AKS-74UB build and fitted 2 more Ak-74's with my favorite mid-price range loadout. This is my go to gun for average raid. I pack 20 rounds of BS ammo (BP if I don't) then last 10 rounds I'll put BT so when I see the tracer rounds I know it's time to swap mags. No other game allows you to pack individual rounds in a mag to suit how you want to play.

I don't care for any of the AK's really. Too much kick. I stick with the ARs, M4s, and now the MP7's. Of course, who also doesn't love the Mosin? That P90 also is a bit of a laser, but I haven't bought any and set them up. Only used a stock one I found in a raid for a little bit.

Tarkov is interesting with kick, once you learn that the first bullet is the only one you need to worry about, you can maintain spray control after. AK has an initial kick up which is pretty high on the first round but then all other shots will be grouped the same. So if you pull down after the first round then attempt to center after it shouldn't climb anymore.

This video will show what I mean.

                      Re: Escape from Tarkov

So I had an interesting scav run this morning. I spawn on the coast of shoreline and decided to hit coastal village for Tool Set parts so I can complete a mission. I was just poking around slow when I see a player sprinting. Popped a few shots just hoping for luck, but then he decided to look back at where the shot came from and he ate a head shot (He had no helmet).

So I wasn't sure if I dropped him so I scouted around the area then went looking for his body after I was certain he wasn't camping a bush. This is where I found out, I landed a killing headshot.

I spend a few min looting him and determining what I wanted then I decided his SA-58 was a big enough score for me to get out of this round. I make my way down the path maybe 200 yards when I spot another geared player, I sight in with my new SA-58 and put a round through his chest. This guy just so happened to be running gen3 armor with all this gear. Big mistake.

High end run for a lowly scav, over 400k just in guns/over 500k total haul.

Almost had the 4 man team wipe. Ended up putting 3 away and the 3rd clipped me in the leg and couldn't sprint behind cover. Val just dumps rounds so fast, if you don't down someone and have to reload your in a bind.

                          Re: Escape from Tarkov

My buddies and I ran into two heavily armed guys at the resort. We were scavs, they were PMCs. All I had was a saiga 9, but in the first exchange I killed one guy. My two buddies died, one to gunfire, one to a grenade that hurt me bigly. I healed up, walked back up the hill to the fence and he shot at me once, then threw a nade. I went prone and acted dead. Sure enough he came stomping around after a minute or two and walked right into my view. I panned over and was able to headshot him with the saiga 9.

Unfortunately I was bleeding from nearly every part of my body and wasn't gonna make it without meds. Those guys didn't have any in their packs or rigs, probably only in their containers, so I grabbed as much loot of theirs I could, walked into the middle of the resort and dumped two mags from the M4 trying to draw attention before I fell over dead.

While we all died, it was very rewarding to take out two heavily armed guys with only a saiga 9. I imagine where I dropped dead and with the noise I made they lost their stuff. They had USEC armor, nice helmets, sordins, each had an M4 and something else very nice. And they both died because neither put their face shield down on their helmets.

Other than that death, pretty much every run I've down the last couple days, scav or PMC, has been a success and gotten me out alive. I'm up to about 2 million now and have plenty of cases and guns. One of my last scav runs got me fuel conditioner.m, a bitcoin, and a few other things and I netted a pretty penny despite not having a backpack.

                            Re: Escape from Tarkov

Just to give a glimpse of how good the runs have been lately, I had 1.6m in the bank, but had plenty of gunsmiths to do, had graphics cards to buy, had maybe 3 guns in my stash, stock, and had a couple of cases. My stash was worth 10-11m. Now I have over 20 guns, most modded out, I have 2 meds cases, an items case, a scav junkbox, the food case, a magazine case, and a few other things, my stash is worth 20m and I have nearly 2m in roubles just sitting there now because I don't have any quests needing me to spend money. I've got 3 or 4 M4s, 3 or 4 ADARs, all customized, I've got 5 AK variants, customized, an SVD, MP7, and a bunch of other guns.

Tarkov has been very good to me lately which means I'm probably due a night or two of dying almost every raid. I even got lucky enough that practically every scav I had until my last one to end last night had a berkut. And on what was I believe our last PMC run of last night, we went woods to get my friend the letter for Jaeger. I went in with a cheap kit, the 68 helmet, the class 3 armored rig, only an MBSS, and a sawn off silenced mosin for the heck of it. I left with a scav backpack, I forget what rig, 2 SKS and an AK in the backpack along with I believe a FAL on my back, plus a few other goodies. What started as us just wanting to get him his letter and get out ended up with me making 200-300k in roubles.

I'd like to think I've gotten a lot more comfortable in the maps and with the gunfights and that has played a role. My survival rate pre-pistol kill quest was around 45% it dipped to around 30% trying to run factory for those pistol kills. Since beating it my survival rate has almost skyrocketed past 50% and I'm also getting more PMC kills than before to go along with it. My KD has risen to over 5.0, which that comes with not dying much lately, but my XP from kills used to not be too far above looting, but it has up and left it at this point.

Oh, and on one PMC run last night we ran into a guy with Killa armor and a very nice helmet I forget the name of. It's a tan something that had 110 armor points. The dummy didn't have his face shield down and my ADAR ended him quickly. He ended up having over 1.2m roubles worth of loot on him that my buddy and I split. He had like 6 dog tags on him, 2 P90s, another Killa armor and helmet in his pack and quite a bit more. I think he figured he was safe sprinting out of the dorms, but he learned pretty quick he was not. Sort of bad luck for him. We weren't going into the dorms, just passing by through the trees, but he ran right near us and I took the shot at the open face. Poor guy didn't know what hit him.

Yea funny how that works huh, I'm in the same boat. Putting in mad hours and learning the combat, loot mechanics, and other odds & ends has brought my survival rate into the 40% range. I've going through the same dip that you mentioned because I've been running factory trying to get my pistol kills. Go figure I get one the other night but with my scav.

That's awesome though, new patch dropped today too. 12.2, bring new weapons and gear evidently.
