I ran the FLIR on Shoreline last night. That scope is ridiculous lol. There were 4 of us, 2 of us had the scopes. We were a squad moving through the map. We didn't go to the resort as we were doing other quests. We did run into a few players and none of them made it, all of us did. I shot one round all match, got a kill from 300+ meters away thanks to the scope. The poor guy probably never even heard me fire the shot since I was suppressed. He most likely heard the thud and his screen went black. My friend near him that was pushing didn't even hear the shot, only the bullet whiz by and the thud of the hit. The guy had no clue I was there, our buddy with the mosin was the only one who had shot or showed themself to him, he was peeking based off where he was and opened himself up to a clean shot for me and I took it and he dropped.

Re: Escape from Tarkov
Thanks for the lesson phobia, that was great and I've seen some improvement in my survivability as a SCAV.
I stumbled on something earlier that I had no clue about that I think will definitely improve my survivability. That's I didn't realize that as a SCAV that the AI Scavs will not shoot you unless provoked.... Here I was this whole time shooting everything from the jump regardless if I was a Scav or not.

Re: Escape from Tarkov
Scav bosses will shoot you and his guards will as well if you don't keep your distance from them. Also, if a player scav shoots at you, but does not hit you, but you shoot back and hit him first, then the other AI scavs will be aggro'd towards you. However, if he damaged you first before you shot him, then you will be okay and they won't attack you on sight.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I was walking around enjoying my new peace as a SCAV and all was good with all the other Scavs. I wasn't near the boss on customs but I breached a door on the bridge and a dude shot me. He looked like a Scav and the name seemed like a regular ai name but seemed like a human because no reason it should have shot me and he was in a weird area so wondering if they show up as regular names rather than a player name even though it seemed to be human?

Re: Escape from Tarkov
Yes, player scavs will show as their scav's name, not their gamertag name. The way to tell if a scav is human or not when looting is to see if they have the pouch at the bottom. AI scavs will have no pouch slot, human scavs will have it.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Escape from Tarkov
I don't see it ever happening. It has complex controls with varying stances, varying lean, and multiple different sight up options. You can flip the gun 45 degrees to utilize a reflex sight and flip back in an instance to your primary scope. To add further to that, there is multiple sight pictures and laser options, such as a side mounted flashlight which might also have a laser sight. You can toggle which you want to run, just the light, just the laser, or both. I don't see these being feasible on consoles with the amount of complex controls needed and a control rework would be damn near impossible it seems.
Hard core mil-sim shooters were born on PC and being the market for console is the fortnite style of games, it wouldn't have the market enough to warrant the work for low sales on consoles.
I suggest if you like mil-sim shooters such as ARMA, Squad, Tarkov, and hell even PUBG slightly fits in that realm, then go out & build a PC. You will not be sorry if that is where you enjoy to spend your gaming time.Comment

I get the overall point too, but I think there is room for shooters on console that are more grounded like this w/ projectile-based ballistics instead of hit-scan. I think this generation, PUBG and BF4 I've played more than anything else resembling a shooter by a wide margin. If Tarkov came out playing smooth I'd buy instantly along with anyting else with this type of vibe.
I'm not against PC gaming it's just too much of a switch and time-sink for my life right now with 2 small kids, jumping into something completely new like that while I already own 2 consoles.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Escape from Tarkov
New AK74U build with 67 recoil. Stats & parts break down for anyone who might like to know. Ignore the BP ammo, that's what was in the gun when I extracted with it, that will be changed to BS.Last edited by Phobia; 01-05-2020, 05:41 PM.Comment

Re: Escape from Tarkov
At least you aren't using PS ammo. We did a 4-man on Shoreline last night and some random PMC saw only our first guy and hit him probably 6 or 7 times at least, but thanks to him using PS ammo and the buddy using UN armor(for a quest), the buddy survived and and the other PMC did not. My buddy was very appreciative, though, as he's been struggling to level his Vitality up. That guy gave him 2 or 3 points in about 5 seconds.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Escape from Tarkov
Going to pick this up today with some friends. Game looked interesting based on twitch streams and your stories/clips. Any tips I should be aware of starting out? Any must and must not?

Phobia had a really nice write up. I would just add that when you play as a SCAV , the AI Scavs do not harm you unless you shoot them so be aware of that from get go will save you some of the early deaths you bring upon yourself if you shot everything that moved as a SCAV.
