I can't believe it took them this long to make a game like this. It will just print money. Looks like it's set a while ago. Hopefully in the future we also get a sequel to the book series that involves the characters we're all familiar with.

I'm honestly more excited about this game than anything else on next-gen.

I am too and I dont think I have watched more than 30 minutes of a HP movie (although the HP park at Universal in Orlando is sweet as hell and almost got me to start watching them).

Honestly, the universe is ripe (and in serious need) of extended universe treatment. I wouldn't mind a cameo from a familiar face, but would rather have some new characters or other mythos to explore than Harry Potter.

Definitely. I want a new adventure in the wizarding world. A cameo would be cool but I honestly hope it doesn't reach and try to give us a bunch of cameos or these are the relatives of xyz wizard.

They announced today that the game will now be released in 2022.

Which I'm perfectly fine with. I want nothing more than for them to get this game right.

I forgot that it was set to release in 2021, so I was not super disappointed when my wife sent me that text this morning. I cannot wait to play it, and I agree. I want them to get this right.

They saw how 2077's release went and noped on out of a rushed release

Honestly if it's coming out in 2022 I won't be mad if it is a PS5, Series X, PC exclusive even if i don't have one by then.

I agree. Part of the developmental problems with these grandiose titles, in particular, is having to develop for too many platforms, which stretches out staff that might be thin already. It can also lead to issues or shortcomings on better hardware because the game has to be "usable" on lesser, older hardware.

They should just drop the release for PS4/XB. By 2022, the newer consoles should be readily available.

What is you all's hopes of exactly what kind of game we are getting? I hope some day we get a game where we can finish school, get jobs in the Wizard world (so many possibilities), choose sides, etc.

What I want. A seamless open world with rpg elements and choices that matter. Starting out as a student, graduating and becoming an auror, investigating some kind of major plot point with multiple branching story lines where your actions can make you the savior or lead you to becoming the next dark lord.

What I think that we will get.
A zoned world that we can explore, hogwarts, hogsmeade, maybe a couple of other areas. Taking classes as a student and ultimately going on an adventure, still as a student, in the same manner that Harry Potter did during the first 6 books. I read somewhere that choices will matter, but I have doubts about how much they will allow you to sway the character's moral compass.

This is...folks, this game is completely unbelievable. Easily my most anticipated game maybe ever.

I think I hyped it up so much in my mind, that I was disappointed. I cannot explain it because I do not know what I was expecting, but I was expecting.. more?

Still going to be the one game I buy at full price every couple of years.
