    Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition

Picked this up Friday on my way to my wife and I’s first vacation in a long time. It’s down there in the car while I’m sitting at the beach for a week.

I’m excited to play but happy to make the trade.

      Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition

Mass Effect 1 is definitely clunky but it's got a lot of the old Bioware goodness with dialogue/story so the game is worth sticking out just for that alone.

If you're someone struggling with how dated the game is I just ask that you stick with it.. you'll thank yourself for it when you get to Mass Effect 2.

Something else I noticed (not necessarily here) is that a lot of first time players are going with Soldier as their class. Some of the other classes offer different and cool options for taking down shields and dealing with enemies so I hope everyone explores those a little bit. I know my first playthrough was as a Soldier years ago and later I regretted the decision. There's absolutely nothing wrong with playing as a soldier but just thought I would throw that out there. I liked some of the ally biotics so much I couldn't diversify my squad too much.

I haven't bought the game yet but I'm sure peer pressure will get me sometime this week. I was trying to finish The Division 2 first but it's getting tedious around rank 30. I also just bought MLBTS a few weeks ago and that $76 for the PS5 version is still lingering. $140 on 2 games in less than a month isn't something I really like to do anymore. I wish they had priced the game at $50.. would still be $130 but at least I would feel better about it in my head.

Andromeda was garbage. I love Mass Effect, and I can't get through it. I could deal with the glitches, but the characters were just not good. Liam might be the the worst written character from any Bioware game.

I tried to start the game 3 different times and couldn't make it further than 3 or so hours in. I remember when it was announced and how excited I got watching that trailer and then when the actual game came I couldn't make myself play it.

            Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition

Finished off ME1 over the weekend (around 26 hour playthrough - I definitely skipped some side quests) and am about 9 hours into ME2.

They really did a nice job updating ME1. It's graphically a lot cleaner (and darn gorgeous in some places) and the shooter mechanics are quite a bit better than the original. It obviously still feels a bit dated; but you play ME1 for the story.

ME2, as expected, doesn't look quite as graphically refreshed (because it didn't have as far to go) but it's still pretty. As others have said, gameplay takes a solid step forward with ME2 (as it did in the original).

Going to finish 2 (which I plan on being more 'completionist' with) and then move onto 3.

I want to eventually go back through and do a full run on Insanity for all 3 games with a fresh character.

I’ve been playing though this and I’m loving it. I played it on 360 when it came out but haven’t played it since.

I have noticed, however, that the lip syncing is a bit off. At least in the first game which I’m ok right now. I recently changed my sound settings to surround sound but I doubt that is causing the issue. Has anyone else noticed the lip syncing not matching up. The voice audio is just a bit delayed compared to the PC & NPC’s mouths moving. I’m hoping they update this in a patch but it definitely seems like something they’d have caught.

Worth every penny. Just started yesterday and the improvements to the original Mass Effect are noticeable.

                          Really beautiful on 4K.

I am having so much fun......I forgot how amazing the story is and the original Mass Effect really focused on the plot more than anything else. It is like getting back together with old friends.

I am taking the infiltrator route this time and being sort of a renegade in spots....actually kinda fun being a dooshbag sometimes LOL!!!

This will eat up a couple of hundred hours playing all three in succession.

I've been playing about 2-3 hours every day since this game came out, and I am about half way through ME2. It's like sitting with an old friend for a few hours every day, It is the best part of my day.

Garrus is my BFF, we roll together every mission.

I had forgotten just how much more satisfying the combat was in ME3 compared to the other games in the series. Even some of the smaller skirmishes can be a handful but I love the added movement mechanics (diving in and out of cover) that game has (and I love that the AI does it as well). Call me crazy, but I feel like there is this added sense of tension in the combat where just one mistake can result in a 'game over' screen.

It might not be intentional; but there's an added sense of desperation to the combat that perfectly complements the desperation in the story arc.

I've got a long ways to go through ME3, but I'm going to have to do a full Insanity run with my next character. I'm not a trophy hunter at all; but I may very well go for my first platinum with this compilation.
