    2021 Gaming Plans

HAPPY NEW YEAR of GAMING EVERYONE!!!

As we start 2021, im currently waiting to receive the Xbox Series X bundle that I ordered back on December 19th from GameStop which should hopefully be coming this Thursday, January 7th via FedEx.

My primary gaming console will be Xbox Series X while PlayStation 5 will be my secondary full exclusives only console when I purchase it this coming Spring. All games I list will be color coded for the respective console that I purchased, played and completed the game on. How im playing the respective game is listed in parenthesis and is either via digital, disc or game pass.

    CURRENTLY PLAYING
    None

    BACKLOG
    - Assassin's Creed Valhalla (digital gold edition)
    - Bright Memory (digital, demo)
    - Cyberpunk 2077 (digital, waiting for the next gen upgrade)
    - Gears 5: Hivebusters (game pass, expansion)
    - Gears Tactics (game pass)
    - Immortals Fenyx Rising (digital gold edition)

    - Marvel's Spider Man: Miles Morales (disc, base game)
    - Watch Dogs Legion (disc, base game)

    FEBRUARY 2nd
    - Outriders (undecided)

The only positive about not having the Xbox Series X (or PlayStation 5) yet is that thankfully, I thus far only have one game with a confirmed release date for 2021. Thus far, the first half of 2021 is looking empty for me except for Outriders so I should be all caught up by the time April/May arrives.

What's YOUR gaming plans for 2021???

Back log to be to say will always have a back log it is what it is.

      Current games

The pathless-I am getting towards the end about to fight second to last boss.

Immortals Fyenx rising- Still pretty early in the game think I have gotten to the
3rd of like the 7 different areas and there is still dlc to come out later.

Ori and the will of the wisp- Very early in the game only gotten a little bit past the basic intro. I enjoyed the first game a lot last year on the switch has well dont have a xbox.

      Later this year

      Ratchet and clank rift apart-?
oddworld soulstorm- Spring I never played a oddworld game but I love platforms and from has been shown this looks great.
      kena bridge of spirits-?
      scarlet nexus- Summer
      Horizon Forbidden west-?
      Zelda BOTW 2-?

      Might get

batman gotham knights- I am not sure what to think of this the fact it looks like the got rid of the batman Arkham style combat sucks has that is a big reason those games where so good.

Zelda 35 year stuff- I am expecting to get some Zelda 35 year stuff this year and Zelda is my all time favorite franchise but we dont know yet what that stuff might be.

Sticking with my PS4 Pro and tackling the massive, robust backlog I have. I am also playing my PS3, NES and original XBOX.

The only new sports game I would consider purchasing is MLB The Show 21.

Will check back in here soon with a complete list of my ridiculous backlog on the PS4 and check each game off as we go along.

Once I have both next gen consoles, one of my rules is to never have a backlog simply because I know im not going back to older games and thus, will never play them. I must say that this rule will make gaming even better for me as I will focus more on quality as opposed to quantity and won't have to worry about being all caught up.

No next gen console (PS5) for me until at least spring / autumn of 2022 depending on how Madden looks by then as well as Horizon Forbidden West.

I as many others above have a massive backlog that I would like to clear first, though where am I going to find time for this I have no idea.

            CURRENTLY PLAYING:

            - Horizon Zero Dawn - I gave this a second try after a rather overwhelming first encounter a couple of months ago, and now I am 30 hours in with 27.2% of the game (main story?) completed. When you can spend ~30 minutes just standing on the lake shore fishing, you are not going to get very far very quick in this game. Truly amazing, visually / technically a marvel, but for a guy like me, perhaps a bit too massive.

            - Snooker 2019 - a sidekick / change of pace game to HZD. Started a career mode as Andrew Higginson, my second most-favorite player ever. In season one, lost my first qualifiers, then won the very next ranking event, World Open. Qualified for next three ranking events, with Paul Hunter Classic coming up next.

            TOP PRIORITIES OF 2021

            - The Last of Us 2 - my personal gaming event of the year
            - Days Gone

            NEXT IN LINE

            - Uncharted 2-4 (finished Drake's Fortune this Nov/Dec)
            - Uncharted Lost Legacy
            - Nier : Automata

            AWAITING THEIR TURN

            - Life is Strange
            - Watch Dogs 2

            CONSIDERING A BUY

            - Assasins Creed Odyssey - top priority
            - Immortals Fenyx Rising - low priority
            - Dying Light - low priority
            - Red Dead Redemption 2 - if I get mad enough, I'd get this one, too

            SHELVED

            - Madden 21

When I look at this list it makes me cry / smash things in despair because I have no idea where do I get the time to play and truly explore all of these games, feel the different vibes, stories, atmospheres... All of them seem to be true gems. Where do y'all get time for this???

              I have so many games in backlog that anything new will be purchased long after release or after they hit the bargain bin with the exception of;

<li> MS Flight Simulator (PC); (<i>Saving $ for full purchase enjoyment</i>)
              <li> Hitman 3 (PS5,PSVR)
              <li> Sniper Elite VR (PSVR)
              <li> Certain Exclusives and Next-gen Sports (PS5)(PC)</li>

              As for my current gaming in 2021;

<ul><li><b> Madden 21 (PS4);</b> Jets had a miserable year at 3-13. Super Bowl New England vs Dallas. Secured the # 1 pick. Fired Gase. Darnold is trade bait, and Mike Tomlin is high on my top list of head coach hires after Steelers fired him.

<li><b> MLB: The Show 20 (PS5);</b> Started new 2020 season with Mets in one team control.

<li><b> NBA 2K 21 (PS5);</b> My Team Nets. Playing full schedule and just started My Franchise.

              <li><b> War Thunder (PS4,PS5);</b> At level 96.

<li><b> Jurassic World: Evolution (PS4);</b> Determined more than ever to get off Isla Muerta island!

<li><b> No Man's Sky (PS5,PS4,PSVR);</b> A game with years of content to play with!

<li><b> The TellTale Series: The Walking Dead Final Season (PS4);</b> Finally bit on the currant sale and determined to complete Clementine's story. Starting Episode 4 now.

<li><b> Sudden Strike: Complete Edition (PS4);</b> - German campaign

<li><b> Star Wars Squadron (PS5,PSVR);</b> Awaiting PS5 patch to begin campaign.

<li><b> Spider-Man (PS5);</b> Never started it on the 4. Glad to now on the 5.</li></ul>

When I commit to a non sports game that hooks me, it is like binge watching a series on Netflix. I play late night weekend sessions and play it till I am done.

When I played TLOU2 I put aside everything else and played it for 8 straight days.

                2021 Games Completed:

Sniper Elite 4 - Awesome sauce. Completed every map and dlc on Sniper Elite level (Hard)

                Currently playing:

                Madden 21 - Dolphins Year 5
                MLB The Show20 - 1993 Yankees/Marlins Year 1
                PGA 2K21

                  Re: 2021 Gaming Plans

Just got my PS5 a week ago so its been great so far.

                  Games Recently Completed:
-COD Cold War. I expected more out of it, and like all COD campaigns, was really short. Won't be playing it too much. 6.5/10
-Spiderman: Miles Morales. LOVED it. Insomniac is killing it with the Spiderman series, can't wait for Spiderman 2. 10/10

                  Games To Play:
                  -AC: Valhalla (up next)
                  -Cyberpunk 2077 (waiting for next-gen upgrade/patch)
-Ghost of Tsushima (started on PS4, but didnt get very far so ill just restart)
-God of War (bought it but ive never played it yet)

                  Possible Buys:
-Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West (series looks good, might buy both and play them back to back when FW releases)
-Hitman 3 (havent yet played a Hitman game, might be time to try it)
-Far Cry 6 (same reasoning as Hitman)
-God of War Ragnarok (might pull a Horizon and play both back to back here as well)
-Gotham Knights (love Batman, must play)
                  -Gran Turismo 7

                  Sports Games Currently Playing:
-NBA 2K21 (Bulls MyNBA, waiting on sliders for the ATD project. Might start a Sky MyWNBA as well)
                  -Madden 21 (Bears franchise)
-NHL 21* (havent yet bought, might start a Blackhawks franchise)
-MLB 20 or 21 (waiting on 21 news before deciding. Either Brewers or White Sox)
-F1 2020 (driver career, starting with Haas)
-FM2021* (havent bought yet, will either start in USA or take over Bayern)
-AO Tennis 2 (undecided on if I want to stick with it)
-PGA Tour 2K21 (in CC-C on TGCTours)
                  PSN / Xbox GT - BLUEnYELLOW28

                    Re: 2021 Gaming Plans

Backlog is too long to list, although I did at least finish Trails of Cold Steel 4 (and that entire 4 game series with it).

This being the first full year of next-gen, I'm obviously looking forward to The Show '21 on PS5 assuming it's released. If it's not (and given how 2020 went I'd say nothing is certain in annual game development) I'd probably still pick it up on PS4 after seeing how much better the 5 runs '20 through backwards compatibility.

Right now the only confirmed 2021 non-sports title I'm looking forward to is on Switch: Bravely Default 2. I'm also anticipating Breath of the Wild's sequel to be released this year, although the original is still on my backlog. Diablo 4 is another title I'm anticipating, but its release date is still unknown.

So far at least, it looks like this is going to be a good year to clear out some of that backlog while getting a taste of what the next generation is capable of.

backlog is non existent really. Did play and beat The Last of US 2. Didn't like it and thought it was the most overhyped game of 2020. Own both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Currently playing the sports games and the new COD. Already beat Valhalla. Might go back to Watch Dogs Legion. I have Ghosts to finish but I kind of burnt on open world after the marathon Valhalla is.

Looking forward to what ever comes out. I expect the heavy hitters to not release until the end of the year though like October and November.

I don't play much these days. I'd like to finish up the story in Star Wars: Squadrons. Once baseball starts up again, I'll be fully into Super Mega Baseball 3. In the meantime, I'll be playing some Legend Bowl as the developer continues to move the game out of Early Access.

The only game I'm definitely buying this year is the Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga.

Like last year I don't want to insult my intelligence with some master plan to clear a backlog, but I had a pretty good year finishing some games when I didn't think I would. There are a few games I know for sure I want to buy, but other than that I just have some interests.

To quote Snoop Dog “I’m thinking of a master plan”

To dent my backlog in 2021!!! Lol!

Items from Last epoch are marvels that will outlast all of us. Yes it is with old items, they have a soul that helps them hold on for so long. There is no other explanation why last epoch items hold out longer than modern items. Maybe it works because people used to make items with passion, put their whole heart into the items and give the items part of themselves. Contemporary items are cool, but you know if they are made with the same passion? Can they take that long? We will find out about this only when the last epoch speaks of our epoch
