2021 Gaming Plans
Maybe I couldn’t find it because I’m on mobile but I’m really surprised there’s not a thread for New World. I don’t really care for this game but one of my Twitch followers gifted it to me so does anybody on a west coast server need a clan mate or whatever it’s called?

Re: 2021 Gaming Plans
Since finally getting an Xbox Series X on January 4th and PlayStation 5 on February 14th, I have played a good amount of games thus far as I work my way through the minimal backlog that I currently have based on the Nov/Dec 2020 games.
CURRENTLY PLAYING
- Far Cry 6 (Disc/base game. I honestly wasn't enjoying the game the first day or two but over the last three days, I really enjoying it. Gorgeous visuals. Good voice acting and music. Excellent combat despite a few things that I don't like. Story and characters are thus far solid and have me interested but I still have a long ways to go. Overall, is better than New Dawn by far and will probably edge out Far Cry 5 due to Far Cry 6 having a fully voiced protagonist and third person cut scenes.)
COMPLETED
- Gears 5: Hivebusters (Game Pass Ultimate/expansion. Really enjoyed Hivebusters as it was what I played and completed first on the Xbox Series X. An 8.5/10 overall for me and im hoping Gears 6 follows Hivebusters and goes back to being more linear than more open world/wide linear like Gears 5 was.)
- Watch Dogs Legion (Disc/base game. Overall, a good 7.0/10 but still prefer the original 2014 Watch Dogs the most. I want my vigilante protagonist back. The open world of London with Ray Tracing looked great but wasn't into this game all that much. Played through the story and that was basically more than enough for me.)
- Immortals Fenyx Rising (Digital/base game. Loved Immortals as it's easily my BOTW killer. Gorgeous open world, excellent combat and gameplay, good story and characters, excellent puzzles and vaults. Great music too. Love this game!!! Hoping it becomes Ubisoft's next franchise. Overall, a 9.0/10 and still the best game I have played on the current generation consoles.)
- Marvel's Spider Man: Miles Morales (Disc/base game. PlayStation 5. Very few negatives in this game. Wish the story was longer because I really enjoyed it, Miles and all the characters. Side Content still leaves a lot to be desired. Overall, an excellent 9.0/10 game and im very much looking forward to Spider Man 2.)
- Gears Tactics (Game Pass Ultimate. A great turn based strategy RPG with a very good story and characters. Good combat system but having the side missions be mandatory was a complete turn off for me. Prefer Mutant Year Zero and Kingdom Battle over Gears Tactics when it comes to the turn based strategy RPG's that I have completed. Overall, an 8.0/10.)
- Immortals Fenyx Rising: Myths of the Eastern Realm (Digital/expansion. Really enjoyed this expansion and very happy that Ubisoft considers Immortals to be a franchise for them. Overall, an 8.5/10.)
- Outriders (Digital/base game. Loved Outriders so much that I played through it three times throughout the month of April. Great 8.5/10. Hoping for an expansion later this year.)
- Resident Evil VIII: Village (Disc/base game. Completed the game in four days after starting on release day. Great 8.5/10 game overall and enjoyed it more than RE VII but the last third of the game falls off compared to the first two thirds of the game but it is what it is. Enjoyed it for what it was. Looking forward to REmake4 in 2022/2023.)
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (Disc/base game. PlayStation 5. Great game with a solid and enjoyable story and characters. Excellent combat and gameplay. Superb visuals. 9.0/10 overall for me.)
- Assassin's Creed Valhalla (Digital/base game. Great 8.0/10 game in general with the visuals/world, story arcs and characters carrying the game for me. Just so many gameplay/combat elements that I didn't like. Wish the setup was the same as Origins/Odyssey.)
- Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids (Digital/expansion. Good 7.0/10 for me but all I did was the story and that's pretty much it.)
- Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris (Digital/expansion. Good 7.5/10 for me. Better than Druids but not by much.)
- Watch Dogs Legion: Bloodline (Digital/expansion. Good 7.0/10 for me but too short and makes me wish for a true sequel to the original Watch Dogs with Aiden as the protagonist.)
- Kena: Bridge of Spirits (Digital/base game. Great 8.5/10 game with gorgeous visuals and art style, great audio, excellent combat and gameplay and a very good story that's a little darker than expected considering the game's E rating. Ember Lab created and developed one hell of a great game.)
ON HOLD
- Bright Memory (Digital/demo. This is basically a demo that sets up Bright Memory Infinite which is what im waiting for before playing.)
- Cyberpunk 2077 (Digital/base game. Simply, im waiting for the current generation upgrade.)
UPCOMING
- Guardians of the Galaxy (Disc. This looks better than Avengers at times but then looks worse due to the comedic stuff in the game. Interested but will wait and see what the reviews are since im 50/50 at best.)
- Halo Infinite (Game Pass. Campaign only. Will be playing my first Halo game ever and no, im not playing through the previous games. It's boom or bust in regards to this franchise for me future wise with Halo Infinite. I know the game will look vastly improved compared to 15 months ago, the soundtrack will be awesome, gameplay and combat is said to be excellent based on the MP Betas so it will all come down to the story and characters for me.)
BACKLOG
- Biomutant (Disc/base game. Will be picking this up to play before the year ends. Could be after Far Cry 6 if I decide to pass on GOTG but if I do play GOTG, then I will play Biomutant after Halo Infinite.)
- Immortals Fenyx Rising: The Lost Gods (Digital/expansion.)
- The Ascent (After playing two or so hours, I purchased the game back in July. Think Ruiner mixed with Diablo mixed with Alienation set in a cyberpunk universe. Very much looking forward to this game. Looks great!!!)
- Ghost of Tsushima: Iki Island (Want to play this expansion but not in the mood to replay the game since I played it just over a year ago. Pushed back into 2022.)
Overall, im loving the Xbox Series X. Loading times are insane. Games all look great and play even better at 60FPS. Have also enjoyed the PlayStation 5. Miles/Ratchet are two highlights of the generation for me and Kena was a great freaking game. Overall, this generation has been great for me with every game being at least an 8.0/10 or higher for me.Comment

Re: 2021 Gaming Plans
A very tight rotation as we are closing in on the end of the year.
MLB The Show 20 - Completed Year 5 of my every pitch every inning Yankees Franchise that began on MLB 17. We won our second straight World Series and are now in the Winter Meetings. We will start Year 6 in Feb 22. Now we will focus on Bacons Yankees and a 1994 Yankees Season Replay.
Madden 22 - Year 1 of our Chargers Franchise is already at mid-season. We are also playing a 1990 Dolphins Franchise once the 1991 draft class is completed.
NBA2K22 - We are in Year 1 of our modern day Heat MyNBA and are awaiting MJ Wizards Complete Classic Team Project to be finished before we embark on a Heat MyNBA with a custom league made up of many different era teams.
Mass Effect Legacy Edition - We are still on Mass Effect 1 as we slow play the entire trilogy again on the PS5.
In the Que and on deck next:
Outer Worlds
My back log is insane and that’ll be our focus again in 2022. Plenty of fantastic PS4 games to keep me busy for 2022. I will see what the PS5 drops in 2022 as well. Now Playing on PS5:
CFB 26 Hurricanes/Fresno State Year 2
MLB The Show 25 - 2025 Yankees Year 1
MLB The Show 25 1985 Yankees Year 1

Re: 2021 Gaming Plans
My first update since January which shows how little gaming I've done in 2021. I finally landed a PS5 last week and winter is right around the corner when I do most of my gaming so hopefully I can complete some more games in my backlog. I expect I’ll be playing a lot of unfinished PS4 games on the PS5.
2021 Wish List Not Fulfilled
Far Cry 6
Disco Elysium
2021 Games Acquired
Microsoft Flight Simulator (PC Game Pass)
Greedfall (PS4 – Hard) – Level 5
MLB The Show 21 (PS5) – Love Playing in Created Stadiums
Twelve Minutes (PC Game Pass): Completed
Hades (PC Game Pass)
The Ascent (PC Game Pass)
Foriza Horizon 5 (PC Game Pass)
Ori and the Blind Forest (PC Games Pass)
I remember when I used to look forward to sports releases but there is so little change from year-to-year with these titles that I can't justify getting them every year except for The Show.
Games Finished in 2021
I've only completed three games all year.
Twelve Minutes (PC – Gamepass) – Finished
It was definitely a nice change from sports, war and role playing games. It’s a story about a murder that you are accused of commiting. Your challenge is to solve the murder by finding clues, listening to dialogue and approaching the problem from different angles that often only open up after learning from your failure. Probably not everyone's cup of tea as it can be very repetitive at times (ie. going through the same dialogue) but it kind of had to be done to make it work. Enjoyable to play on Gamepass but I don't think its worth a full purchase. 7 out of 10
Mad Max (PS4) – Finished - 98 per cent completed, Legend Rank: Road Warrior Level 178
Criminally underrated open world game. Who doesn’t love guns, explosive weapons, upgradeable cars and great hand-to-hand fighting mechanics? Most movie-to-game adaptions are disappointing but Mad Max might be the first one that is actually better than the movie. I couldn’t platinum this game because one of the achievements is online based and the servers are closed. Still a great experience that I spent way too many hours on doing things like chasing historical photos that show the world before the apocalypse hit and the decline into madness due to war and climate change. The plot isn’t memorable and that’s the only thing holding it back. 9 out of 10.
Jurasic World Evolution (PC) – Completed – Five Stars on All Islands, All Mission. 9 out of 10.
DLC Finished in 2021
Dragon Age Inquisition DLC (PC -- Normal) – Jaws of Hakkon – Level 26. 6 out of 10.
Backlog Monster (tm)
Keeps growing and growing ...
*Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey: (PC -- Hard) – Level 33, 28 per cent completed
Cyberpunk 2077 (PC Stadia – High) – Level 14. Couldn’t play in 4k so I stopped playing and dumped Stadia.
Detroit: Become Human (PS4) – Completed Nine Chapters
Divinity: Original Sin 2 (PC) – Level 2
Fallout 4 (PC -- Hard) -- Level 47. Great game and I don't understand why I can't finish it.
Far Cry: New Dawn (PC – Hard) – 40 per cent completed
Hitman (PS4) – Training Mission Complete
Last of Us 2 (PS5/PS4 – Hard)
Kingdom Come: Deliverance (PC – Hardcore Mode) -- Level 19
Metro Exodus (PS5/PS4 -- Hardcore) – The Volga Chapter
Ni No Kung II: Revenant Kingdom (PS4) – Chapter Two
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS5/PS4 – Jedi Master)
Tyranny (PC -- Hard) – Level 6
Vampyr (PS4 – Hard) – Level 4
Watch Dogs (PS4 -- Hard) – 61.8 per cent, Level 33
Yakuza Kiwami (PS4 -- Normal) – 11.98 per cent
Sports Backlog
FIFA 20 (PS4) – Fulham (8-1-0 in Championship)
FIFA 19 (PS4) – PSG (Second Season -- 3-0, Won SuperCup)
MLB 20 (PS4) – Montreal (13-4)
MLB 19 (PS4) – Milwaukee (23-27)
MLB 17 (PS4) – NY Mets (7-13)
MLB 16 (PS4) – Toronto (42-36)
MLB 15 (PS4) --Washington (38-41)
MLB 14 (PS3) -- Los Angeles (25-14)
One day I'll finish a full season
NHL 19 (PS4) – Toronto (1-6). I'm terribleComment

Re: 2021 Gaming Plans
The Witcher 3 by far. In fact, I would also recommend Origins/Odyssey/Syndicate/Black Flag/Rogue before recommending Valhalla which disappointed me so damn much. UGH.Comment

Re: 2021 Gaming Plans
Have not played anything for like a week between watching sports and working. Will have several hours of free time tonight after dinner though. Going to get back into riders republic and I order hot wheels, nick brawler and super monkey balls on ps5 for like 83 from Best Buy should be here on Monday. My Best Buy has sucked at having stuff in stock like post covid lockdowns of last year.Comment
