This is year seven of the game, with Dying Light 2 due it in less than two weeks.

Does anyone here still play the original Dying Light? I completed it back in 2016 with the Enhanced Edition but the game save file is long gone. Is it possible to do this special event right after starting the game or do I need to complete the base game's story and The Following expansion? Thanks.

Looks good considering the base consoles are over 8 years old. I'm guessing 1080p/30fps on PS4, 900p/30fps on XBO, Dynamic 4K/30fps on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Be advised that disc copies are out in the wild so spoilers are out there. Also, the opening prologue has been leaked and posted on YouTube so be wary!!!

This is not true.... If doing co-op, you progress after co-op session is done.

No one yet? This game was amazing in 15 or so for the first one. I got tied up to his weekend so not sure when I can get to it.

All was copied from my DL 2 OT on XboxEra so some stuff may seem out of place but still applies. Any questions, feel free to ask. Will answer tonight.

Currently playing it. I started on normal but after just over 3 hours, I quit and restarted the game on hard as normal was too easy. I finished the prologue after 4 or so hours on hard. It's definitely a long prologue especially if you're like me, taking your time and trying to gather every resource, item, etc.

I’m enjoying the game thus far. A few minor nitpicks that I prefer to be turned off - like enemy detection arrows and that white glimmer that goes around the edge of the screen to tell you there’s enemies like in Assassin’s Creed Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla.

The biggest gripe/nitpick is that you have to use the “vision” all the time. I would have preferred items to just “glow/shimmer” like in Far Cry and other games. Never been a fan of “vision” in games. You WILL be spamming this the entire time in order to detect, items, loot, enemies, etc.

Parkour and combat feels great thus far. Game also looks great on Series X despite it being 1080P and no HDR. But I will easily take the 60FPS over visuals anyway.

Just had a major bug. During a cut scene, there’s this noise for a few seconds and the audio all cuts out immediately. Same exact bug that ACG described in his review. Thankfully, I always play with subtitles on so I was able to read the minute or two of text and once it went back to gameplay, it auto saved which at that point, I went to the title screen and then the Xbox dashboard. I quit the game and restarted it. So far so good now.

Just did a chase sequence. This game is so freaking great thus far. Outside of the major bug, my few negatives is more personal preferences/pet peeves. I downloaded the game which was 35GB and the patch was under 1GB so it definitely wasn’t the day one patch since Techland said it’s a massive patch that fixes 1000 things.

Since then, no issues thankfully. This game is so freaking great!!! I did however come across another negative that is in a lot of games and will never understand why. The leaving area warning screen. Fell into a big hole early on in the City for a mission and couldn’t get out within the time limit which was only 5 seconds. SMH. I really hate it when games have this. I know they want the player to do the mission but sometimes, it’s just ridiculous. Otherwise, definitely better than the first game in every way and overall, I don’t want to stop playing. lol

Just to update all of the above. I put in over 12 hours into the game yesterday but just over 3 was on normal which I quit and restarted on hard. I have died 6-8 times on hard. It's definitely more challenging and the AI is definitely better. Human enemies will dodge/block my attacks and when using throwing knives, they will at times dodge them as well. The zombies are aggressive, come at you and at times, can easily outnumber and overwhelm you very quickly if you're not paying attention.

I am playing with all the HUD options on except for hints/tips. The infection skull timer adds a huge survival element to the game which is already there but this just adds to it.

Overall, loving this game and without spoiling anything, I have barely done anything in the first district. lol. That's with 8+ hours on hard including the prologue which by the way is real good. Enjoyed it a lot.

Just so much that I love in DL 2. Outside of the major bug I had which thankfully, hasn't happened since and using the vision mechanic which in all honesty, I hate in every freaking game, I just want Techland to add in more HUD options as I mentioned at the start and simply continue to polish the game.

Will check back in 12+ hours. lol

I bought this game on the PSN store on Friday and have really been enjoying it all weekend, like Peter I haven't progressed much in the main story other than the 60-90 min opening which is well done on teaching you the game.

I have been just been parkouring around doing events and side missions, the balance between human encounters and infected is excellent and keeps you engaged.

I think its more structured than DL1 and I love the skill tree and the health and stamina system.

Also echo's Peter's statement, the vision button is a pain and I wish items would just appear highlighted when near them.
