Re: 2022 gaming plans
It was announced recently that Fall Out 4 is getting a next gen update next year, so you may wanna shelve it until then.

For me, this simply was The Year of the Elden Ring. I spent half a year with this game, only here and there interrupted with more or less futile efforts to start some meaningful dynasties in either NHL 21, NBA 22 and even Madden 20, the last great Madden on last gen consoles.
Still, I could only resist for about a month after I was finally done with ER to start a new playthrough, this time with a STR/INT, melee focused build (instead of my previous INT/DEX build), beginning as a Lvl 1 wretch, and trying to get through every major boss without summons and using as few and as basic spells as possible.
Already beaten Margit, Godrick, Radagon Wolf, Renalla, Loretta and all the minor bosses in Limgrave and Liurnia, now going through Caelid. I am not looking forward to Redmane Castle at all. Still, beating a major boss without summons feels like a whole new level of incredible.
And though the frequency and lenght of my sessions have dropped significantly the last couple of weeks, I am in no hurry. I'll just continue whenever I get the itch, and will see where it takes me.
Other then Elden Ring, I also managed to finish couple of other games this year:
Code Vein - you'll never forget your first soulslike, and this one is as good as they come. Better, even, then Elden Ring, in more than a few ways.
Tiny Tina: Assault on Dragon Keep - while I have never played a Borderlands game before, the incoming Wonderlands had me seriously intrigued since it was announced. However, I quickly found out that this just wasn't for me. Mechanics and graphics are either bad or weird, story seemed to drag on forever... I managed to finish the game and it had some bright moments, the banter between Tina and her friends were mostly fun, but I was really exhausted and glad it's over in the end, so I am just thankful it saved me the money I would otherwise probably have doled out for the full game in the future.
Uncharted 4 - when it comes to story telling, nobody does it quite like Naughty Dog. I genuinely hate some of the gameplay mechanics that the Uncharted series provides, but the evolution of Nathan Drake from U1 to U4 is an incredible treat to watch / follow. I might like U3 over U4 a bit more overall, but the story alone in U4 takes the whole series to a completely different level.
Bai Qu: Hundreds of Melodies - story wise, this was the most heart-warming, heart-breaking, soul-touching game I have ever played this side of Last of Us. The game's actually a visual novel, but it does not detract from how soothing, calming it can be. While officially 8-12 hours long, I "played" this gem of a story from the end of last year to until probably mid-October, one hour here, two hours there, whenever I needed to ensure myself there's still some good in this world. Simply amazing.
I also tried to to get into Fallout 4 at the beginning of the year but something just didn't click, so I shelved the game pretty quickly, at least for the time being, and also started Red Dead Redemption 2 a week or so ago. Almost promptly turned the game off for good after I found out the game had no difficulty setting and I am still getting the controls down, head's spinning, so we'll see how it goes. Right now I feel like 50-50 between going all in and going the Fallout route. But I am pretty sure that's it as far as my 2022 gaming is concerned.
Oh yes, I also lost my mind and downloaded Bloodborne when it was last on PS sale, so maybe my 2022 gaming is not entirely over after all?
