    Re: Bothers In Arms

I don't have time for detailed impressions right now but I pick this one up today and checked it out for a little bit. It's as good as I was hoping it would be. It's like a combination of Call of Duty (PC version), Full Spectrum Warrior, and Saving Private Ryan. Can't wait to check it out online this weekend.

Any thoughts on the AI? That's my one concern...

"1. Gameplay - this is one of the best shooters ever, as said before it plays like a WW2 FSW where you actually get to shoot. I'm on the mission where you have to capture the church and its been pretty intense so far. The AI in this game is not stupid and won't wait for you to come shoot them. Some of the scenes in this are very lifelike and realistic and theres always that "Yes!" feeling after poppin' a bunch of Germans."

Edit: I can actually expand ont his since I'm farther in the game now than before. Right Now I'm in D+1 on the 2nd mission. The good part is you get to use tanks however the enemy does too, plus they get a selection of AT guns as well. So playing the game using armor tactics totally turns it around. The AI in this game seems to get smarter as the missions progress, for the best challenge i'd reccomend the higher difficulty levels as you can't tell when enemy is suppressed or when you even spot them. When you first get to control the tanks its a bit of fun since you can ride them and direct it to drive as well, and you are also able to man the machine guns on top while having your squad follow you, (however its not reccommended to be riding around on top of the tank esp. during firefights.) I'll try to keep adding more as I keep playing and answer questions if anyone has any.

Yes, the multiplayer aspect is one person commanding the American squad and one person commanding the German squad and is misison base oriented, (no deathmatch.)

Online can actually be 2 on 2 as well, with each person controlling seperate teams for the American's and German's. The game is absolutely incredible. The controls are very fluid, so easy to have you guys lay down supression fire or have them move. So easy in fact I had to laugh because looking back at what a chore it was in FSW, and now this. The AI is actually quite smart IMO. If you flank them and miss, they will turn their fire towards you which totally blows some plans out of the water. The graphics and sounds are amazing, hearing plans, bombs, gunfire in the background really sucks you in. I didn't play online yet, but I talked 2 buddies into buying it last night. I turned it off after a few hours, hopped onto Ghost Recon 2 with some buddies just to let them know how damn good it is!

Agreed this game is everything I thought it would be and more.Major major props
go to gearbox as they put out one hell of a game. is the AI perfect, no, but it is the best I have ever seen in a squad game. Its is leaps ahead of ghost recons2 squad ai and not even close to men of valor. They will actually kill the enemy, take cover and give great suppression fire.

Online was a blast last night. No worries about only four because it was still fun and plenty of action going on around you.You definitely have to strategize with your teammate or you will be toast. If you happen to die, you then take control of the next guy left in your squad until all are dead.Once that happens reinforcements come in.

Again major props to gearbox.Mission accomplished.
