Re: Modern Warfare II
Also, after playing the beta, it's incredible their UI/UX testing passed in any form. It has to be one of the clunkiest, most confusing menus I've ever seen. And based off of some streamers I've watched, it doesn't seem to have changed at all post-beta. Not a huge deal, but man is it frustrating that little stuff like this still plagues these huge studios. My Newport Falcons Football Dynasty (Teambuilder) (CFB25)

I've been reading a lot of this, which is why I'll likely wait a week or two to buy. Gunplay looks fantastic, maps don't look great but also not totally awful either. Give me a quality of life patch after the first week and I'll be hopping in quick.

I actually have been having a ton of fun so far. Obvious terrible menus, interface could use some work. However, the gameplay has been about as good as I can remember a CoD MP being in recent memory. If I had one gripe, it's that the time in between games is *too* fast now. Before it took forever, now I literally don't even have time to update a weapon in between games. Which also comes back to the terrible interface, I can't understand the custom loadout screen to save my life.My Newport Falcons Football Dynasty (Teambuilder) (CFB25)

I also agree that the UI is bad. Too many shoddy-designed menus and "hidden" features. This stuff was fine in MW, too, so I don't know what made them go hard on the obfuscation.Comment

Re: Modern Warfare II
Has their always been an issue with not hearing members of your party during matches?
I haven’t played COD in a while so I wasn’t sure if this has always been an issue or something that just started#RespectTheCultureComment

I'm all about Invasion right now. Putting up 5k points a round and just having a blast with this game.

They literally made the easiest thing ever impossible to figure out with their new voice chat features. I'm loving the gameplay so far but some of the other decisions they made are absolutely dumbfounding. My Newport Falcons Football Dynasty (Teambuilder) (CFB25)

Re: Modern Warfare II
I finally caved and bought this game.
It's still COD so there's the typical stuff that comes along with it but overall this game plays really good. The TTK is about right, I love that you can play the game more methodical and strategic.
The only complaint I have is the weapon customization UI. I enjoy that there are a lot of options and that you are forced to use weapons you ordinarily wouldn't in order to further progression but the menu is not intuitive enough to make any meaningful changes between rounds. I think some sort of basic list style menu would work well for that. I think I read somewhere they are overhauling it?
No real interest in BR so Warzone doesn't matter to me but for the most part I've enjoyed playing Domination, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, etc.. I just completely avoid team deathmatch.
I saw some of the popular streamers complaining about the game. If it makes me a 33 year old boomer then so be it but I think the movement, pace of play, etc. are better for a COD than MW19. I know they all fell in love with breaking their hand to slide cancel across the map and tactical sprinting automatically but the game is better without it. I just really disagree with them complaining about lack of "skill gap" instead of adapting or moving on.I didn't like MW19 so I moved on.. no big deal.
I think Battlefield V still has some of the best movement in a FPS but it works well for that style of gun mechanics. For COD I think this one feels good and I could see myself enjoying it for a long time.Last edited by AUChase; 11-07-2022, 09:42 AM.Comment
