    Re: 2023 game plans

My plans remain the same as they have been for the last ten years, which is to start getting into new genres besides sports and simple time-killers.

      Re: 2023 game plans

      I think my plans are:

      Current Games:

Horizon Forbidden West (Got it for Xmas)
Cyberpunk (Hopefully get back into it)
Marvel Midnight Suns (When Price Drop)
God of War (First one-complete it)

      New Games (Buy at release)

      Jedi Survivor
      Spider-Man 2

Really looking forward to these. Enjoyed both first games)

      Not sure:

MLB the Show (Still playing 20-got for $15)
      Madden
      NBA 2k
      Wwe2k

All these games will have to grab me with updates to immersion in Franchise, Universe, etc. Highlight Shows. News etc. At this point if they aren’t going to fix some of the long-standing issues I might as well stick with what I have. My son won’t like me not getting NBA 2k but then he can buy it if he wants it.

If cyperpunk would released in this state what is now, it would be game of the year.

College Football I think it will to much hyped. With EA it will be another title where the offline or franchise mode players will left behind. all resources will go in UT. Why we pay 80$ to pay then for card packs I don't get. Never played UT in any EA sports game

Diablo 4 I wanna play this year

All these years idling around, afraid I would never play my original Xbox 's games again because I couldn't find a proper controller. All I needed to do was filter on Amazon by brand and choose Microsoft so I could get an original one refurbished instead of one of those knockoff

Whatever, I got it now and my 360 is back on service!

It just seems like - and this is mainly with Madden - it takes a few months to get the game where it needs to be, at least for franchise players. Might as well save a few bucks if I'm going to have to wait anyway.
From an offline/franchise perspective, sports games tend to be in their best state at launch and then 6-8 months later after all the gameplay updates have been released. At least it has felt this way the last several years.

                Re: 2023 game plans

I will absolutely be continuing to play College Hoops 2k8, NCAA Football 14, and NBA 2k22.

I hope to make time to play Madden 22, a full season of All Pro Football 2k8, NHL 22, and MLB the Show.

As for non-sports gaming, I want to pick Red Dead Redemption 2 back up (I played it for a few weeks and stopped) and start up Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order.

Other things I'm looking forward to/want to play in the future include: Dead Island 2, Hogwarts Legacy, and Elden Ring.

We are down to 3 sports games in regular rotation right now:

                    MLB The Show 20
                    NBA 2K23
                    Madden 16

We are going retro on our non sports
Title after beating Sniper Elite 5 and all available expansions.

We fired up a fresh play-through of an all time classic RPG:

Baulders Gate Enhanced Edition 1 and 2 on console (PS5).

While I'm standing by for these titles, I recently was bitten by the Mount and Blade II BannerLord bug. I've been playing that on a consistent basis along with Madden 23. Played River City Girls once or twice a few days ago (I loved the original River City Ransom on the classic Nintendo).

Other than that, my hard drive is chock full of games that I never touch. I've found that I still have a kid excitement for the idea of new games, but now with disposable income to buy them which is a recipe for disaster lol. Gotham Knights is a good one that I haven't touched in a month or two (I might just go fire that up now!!) Probably not, who am I kidding!!!!

My 2023 purchases will be completed pretty early... Going with MLB 23, EA PGA Tour and Dead Island 2.

And if The Day Before actually comes out 11/10, I'll be picking that up day one as well.
