This did not age well. 2023 has actually been a pretty depressing year for me in terms of gaming.
From my "Must buy list", only Horizon Forbidden West was purchased.
None of my tentative 2023 releases have been released yet though most do now have 2023 release dates fortunately.
My 2023 gaming has consisted of
OOTP 24 - Decent amount of hours in, hard to say exactly since I idle in it sometimes.
Diablo IV - Fun for a bit. Needs some QoL improvements before I go back to it though.
Jade Empire - Finally got around to playing this old school Bioware RPG. Really enjoying it so far, but it is quite dated.
Hogwarts Legacy - I enjoyed it more than I thought that I would, but I also wouldn't call it stellar. A solid game, especially as someone who grew up loving the books.
Pokemon Black 2 - Took a recent trip to NY and busted out my 3DS for the first time in probably 4 or 5 years for the plane ride and down time. I think it's the first Pokemon game that I played with any amount of dedication since Pokemon Yellow on the Gameboy Color lol.
Overall it's just been a series of disappointments though.
I was super hyped about Forspoken even since the original reveal, but obviously it did not release in a great state.
Probably my favorite video game franchise released it's first mainline installment in nearly 7 years, but I just have no interest in playing a hack n slash RPG-lite for 40 hours.
Redfall...'nuff said.
F1 23 has a once again unchanged career mode.
I'm holding out hope for the back half of the year though.
Armored Core is August, love mechs
Starfield is September, and it looks amazing.
Super excited to get my hands on the new Forza Motorsport. I hope that it's a far less greedy experience than Gran Turismo 7 was.
Cities Skylines 2, yes please.
