Yeah it pissed me off he couldn't just cut through a door with his light saber or you know, use the force to rip the door off. Or that his little robot buddy couldn't hack the door open either.

Overall, not really impressed. I'm finding myself forcing my way through, and not very excited while I'm doing it. The tomb raider vibe is becoming more annoying as I go along and I just can't imagine a Jedi having to do all of that lol.

You guys remember the movie (the one with Darth Maul), where Obi Wan and his Jedi Master were in the ship and used their light sabers to melt through the reinforced door? Well, every time I came to a door "that has to be opened from the other side", I kept getting p@@sed off that this "Jedi" couldn't simply melt through the door, and that I knew I was about to be forced to take the scenic parkour route which slowly eroded my tolerance level. I'm like, dude you are NOT worthy of the title Jedi, and I mean NOWHERE close lol.

      I give it a 5/10.

Standing by for the next KOTOR to do justice to the Star Wars name on current gen consoles.
Ok, have to eat my words from some of my previous post. I’ll give it 6/10 now!!!!

As much as I said the game was disappointing, I cannot tell a lie, I’ve finally completed it and I’m kind of hooked on trying to get all of the scans, loot boxes, etc lol. Also, the reason why I raised my review by an extra point is because I started a marathon watching all of the movies 🎥 again, and the devs were correct, Jedis could’ve most definitely had to “parkour” around the environment, which, if you check out one of my previous posts was the reason I didn’t like the game because I couldn’t imagine a Jedi being Lara Croft lol !!!

            Re: Jedi Survivor

What a disappointing sequel. I know I’m in the minority but this game isn’t worth full price - maybe $20) and it took me months to finish this lousy game since I struggled to force myself to play it. Finally beat it and now time to delete. I really liked the first game which is why this feels like such a wasted game.

First, this game has WAY too much platforming and for no great reason. You feel more like Mario than a Jedi. There isn’t a lot of point to it either. You spend minutes platforming to get to one area and then poof! You unlock a shortcut so you don’t have to do that trash again. Whether that’s cutting a rope or unlocking a lift it feels dumb. It’s like they realize it isn’t fun but force you to go through with this crap like eating some nasty vegetables and then once you finish say you are allowed to avoid it next time. So many times you think “I’m a Jedi or my bot should just unlock that door” but nope. Take the long way around by climbing, jumping and wall climbing over and over. This isn’t fun developers.

A lot of the platforming nonsense is because the game has a horrible design. The game tries to be open world but it’s fake open world. It’s really a linear game that locks all kinds of directions and pushes you to platform to areas the game requires you to go. It would have been much better to build a linear game OR put in side and main missions like AC than this lousy concept. The maps aren’t always clear where to go either.

Other poor designs have to do with the actual gameplay. You get five stances to fight from over time which is cool. But you can never use more than two at the same time and the skill points are stingy. You can’t come close to fully upgrading multiple stances along with force powers, etc. It feels like they purposely withheld some fun stuff. And some things like the blaster mode are dumb in that you can only shoot 5 bullets before needing to recharge. I get they don’t want you spamming it but it’s just fake limits because they don’t have any better ideas. That kind of design decision represents everything wrong with this game. They don’t know how to do things right so let’s put artificial limitations on everything. Force you to platform and do things that don’t make you feel like a Jedi just to stretch a game out. Most of the time it feels like busy work rather than fun.

The story is OK. It builds towards the end and is fine. But my annoyance with everything else over shadowed a complete whiff of a sequel. So disappointing after a really good first game.

Unfortunately I pretty much agree with you. Haven’t finished yet but all the climbing and jumping makes this a slog to get through. I did buy the disc. Thinking of cutting my losses and just trading it in. I like the story but the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. Too bad.

Im crossing my fingers outlaws (I know it’s made by a different company) is much better.

I feel like it doesn’t matter who makes these SW games but they just miss the mark too often.

agreed too. First one was really good I could just never get into this and it went to steam uninstalled heaven. Maybe I’ll DL again some day and give it another whirl. I never even got to the part where you get a blaster.

The last few levels of the story make all the slog worth it. Very intense, but fun.
