I've also already thought about my next playthrough lol. I honestly thought about going as a bard just to see what that experience would be like. I can see it being very very interesting and very different from how I've played with my rogue.

Well we start our journey tomorrow. And I am deciding between:
Wood Elf - Druid
Wood Elf - Ranger

Just played 4 hours.
Holy sweet Jesus.
Every 10-15 years a game comes along……that defines a genre.
This is that game.
10/10
The RPG to rule them all. And I am just 4 hours in.
Words cannot describe the amount of detail and love and passion that went into this game.
If your an RPG fan and had any love for D&D……this is the game of your lifetime in this genre.
Incredible.

HDR is broken just like it was for Jedi Survivor.
If you have your system calibrated properly go to the 3rd HDR setting screen on your console and bump it down one notch until they patch it.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 - out now for PC, PS5 9/6
Definitely feel you. I came into this game not knowing a whole lot about DnD.
I made a character, played probably like 4 hours. Had fun, but felt like I was missing something. I did learn a lot during those first few hours though.
So, I deleted that campaign and rolled a brand new character. I felt so much more comfortable in the game after that. Hard to recommend telling someone to just delete 4 hours of progress and try again, but I don't think that there is any substitute to experiencing things first hand.
A few tips that I would recommend:
1 - Unless you just want to do it for some kind of roleplay purpose, don't try to balance out your character stats. It's better to be really good in 1 or 2 stats than kind of equal across the board, even if it means one stat is really low.
2 - Combat will be very unique to each class, but don't be afraid to use your environment (as well as items in the environment) to help. Breaking a wine barrel next to an enemy? Well, alcohol is quite flammable and it is easy to have a character with access to a fire cantrip early on.
3 - Be careful with longresting. Many story elements are progressed by long resting, even when you don't realize it. Don't refrain from doing it if you need to, and not every long rest will advance the story. Just be aware that there is the potential there.Last edited by KSUowls; 09-04-2023, 12:37 AM.Comment

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 - out now for PC, PS5 9/6
I restarted as well after about 5 hours when I finally figured out how to do some things better. And rerolled a brand new character.
Dark Elf Warlock named Varis. Much better for my personality in roll playing games. I like to be dark and have touches of serious evil.
