This announcement is about a month old at this point.

Patch 7, due out in September, is going to add some new content, bug fixes, and player toolkit. The later point is what I am most looking forward to. It isn't exactly hard to download nexus mods, but it will be really nice to have everything easily added via Steam.

Still can't believe just how amazing this game is.

      Patch 7 is now live.
I would describe it as a love story to those who love modding and for those who do not play the paragon.

      Here are the highlights:

-Official modding support (you will see a new mod manager menu at the main menu).
-13 new cinematics for evil playthroughs
      -
We remember clearly stating in Community Update #28 that if you are playing as the Dark Urge, a certain bard would now be able to join the party as a controllable character at camp if there’s an empty slot, TEMPORARILY.
      -New mod toolkit (downloaded separately)

There are many other QoL and other small story enhancements as well.

We're getting 1 more major update for this game. Regardless of how you feel about this game, as if this isn't the best RPG of the last decade, we really need to appreciate Larian Studios. The game was released over a year ago, we've had so many major updates which added actual content and replayability to the game. This upcoming update which will presumably be around 18 months after the game was released, it adds 12 new subclasses to play, and at no point during this lengthy post launch release cycle have they required you to pay for DLC or had any kind of microtransactions.

Can't wait to try out a Shadow Sorcerer!

In a time when game publishers are being more and more anti-consumer, Larian is a shining beacon of quality.

It helps to not be owned by some giant billion/trillion dollar corporate entity. That's when things go sideways, and you either go full anti-consumer or you get starved out and eventually shutdown by your overlords.

So after 2 years, I finally got the game installed. I have 30+ mods installed, including a ton of subclasses and have it installed on my Xbox Ally handheld, which has been great for playing while we were traveling in Europe.

I've played D:OS1, but this game is so much better.

My main: White Dragonborn Circle of the Shepherd Druid (modded class from one of the 5E handbooks. Basically a summoner class).
My preferred party: Shadowheart (Spiritual Weapon + Spirit Guardians), Astarian (ranged sneak attack and dual wield sneak attack, with an off-hand dagger that silences casters), and Karlach (wild magic Barbarian).

Of course, I have the mod that lets me keep everyone with me at all times for RP reasons, but when combat starts it banishes party members so I only have 4 members in combat (so that combat is not too easy). I love having everyone as we explore the world.

I'm nearing the end of act 1 and am exploring the underdark before I go back and head to the creche in the mountain pass.

My teenage daughter is also loving the game, and it's fun to see her playing it.

Enjoy! Good luck getting through it. I have permanent alt-itis in this game and keep re-rolling. I've been through Act 1 so many times and it never gets old.

There are some mods that increase enemy density and difficulty if you want to maintain the larger party. I can't recall what they are called.

I have the "many more monsters" mod installed, which definitely gives me more fights. I do worry that it's giving me too much XP though. I just hit level 6 and I'm in the Duergar fortress in the Underdark. I might need to mess around with things.
