I preferred GTA IV's story over GTA V. I always felt like GTA V had a reality TV esque story. I didn't care for the Open World in Mafia 3, for a game like that I rather have it more linear. I was disappointed that Mafia 2 was just a remaster and not a remake like Mafia 1. I have Mafia Definitive Edition through PS Plus. I'm still holding off on it just in case they add a 60 FPS patch.

I'm really looking forward to Mafia 4. i definitely like that it is linear. Should be a great August and on with this game, MGS Snake Eater, GTA6, and the sports games

Recently picked up the Enhanced Trilogy and been playing through them again.
I loved Mafia 1 & 2. I played 3 but lost interest in it and by the time I tried to get back around to playing it so many years had gone by I couldn't do that frame rate anymore. This game is definitely on my buy list.

Yeah, got spoiled with 60fps too. I started Mafia 1 Definitive Edition, but I can't do the 30fps thing. That's something I would hope they update. It seems doubtful, but I would hope that gets patched in around release of new game.

Same. Haven't played them since the PS4. I wish they'd update the trilogy. All the games need a 4K/60FPS patch.

Re: Mafia: The Old Country (2025 release)

I was able to deal with the 30 FPS and get through both of them on the PS5. I didn't pay for either of them and Mafia 2 definitely felt like a cash grab but still enjoyed replaying it.

I wish there were more games like these. Not necessarily the genre but games that have some exploration options but also are narrative/story driven. Mafia, LA Noire, etc. type of games. Open world games are fine sometimes but they are also time consuming and I don't have a lot of that.

I am not a completionist. There's plenty of games I've finished the story for and left a lot of side content on the table but It does bother me some. I like being able to load up in Chapters for games.

Uncover the origins of organized crime in Mafia: The Old Country. Available Now.

Coming out August 8th, costing $50. With it being $50 and a linear non-open world story, I can see this game being 8-12 hours. I could see it being more like Mafia 1 Definitive Edition. I don't mind a shorter story and a linear world. It'll be nice for a game that isn't a 50+ hour open world game.

I like many on here love the fact that it's a shorter game and $20 cheaper. That will be peak CFB256 time so I don't see me pulling away for 50 hours. However for 10ish hours sure I'll do that as I trust the story to be a good one.

I can’t wait for this to release. I absolutely love the Mafia series

I wasn’t expecting the $50 price tag but I’ll definitely take it as I don’t expect it to be a long game

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Would be nice for a game like Mafia 1 Definitive Edition get a 60 fps patch. That's a game that I have been waiting to play, but can't at 30 fps

It's looking like this is a physical game so if you want to save a few bucks. You might could get it new $50 then after a few weeks trade it in and get some of that $ back

This is a game I would use Gamefly for. Beat it in a few days and ship it back before Madden comes out

Orrrrr recall that some games are worth revisiting? So I'll buy it, keep it and be content, knowing that I'll have it to play again some day.

It's always been a little different for me. Once a beat a game, I'm done with it. If I revisit a game, it's usually 2-3 years down the line. So, I'm very picky about which I buy. I have Gamefly, so only games I feel comfortable buying are games I know can enjoy multiple playthroughs. I'm an offline/solo gamer only, so the games that have a longer shelf life for me are limited. For example, I'll buy a sports game because I'll get my money's worth. And I don't want to deal with selling games or having a collection
