Came out yesterday on the PC. It is VERY DIFFERENT. I will just say that. The first few hours to me is boring as hell. Kind of not what I was expecting far as an origin story goes. Also it is a crash fest on the PC, crashes often.

Alright I am on Chapter 6 and they should have called this game the knife fight simulator. Every chapter there is a mandatory knife fight. Also the entire game feels like one long hand holding tutorial. Like I normally don't mind linear games, but this is ULTRA LINEAR. And on the PC at least this game crashes a lot. Like everytime 1 hour of game play is had, game crashes like clockwork.

Game isn’t terrible but it’s nowhere close to being as engaging as it’s predecessors.

I wish I would’ve waited for it to go on sale before buying

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

12900K and RTX 4090. Plenty powerful for this game.

              Yeah, I know.

I only asked because there have been a decent number of stability reports for 13th gen and newer Intel chips.

I just finished chapter 3 and I’m enjoying it and don’t mind the slower pace. I’m intrigued for where the story is headed

14 hours and the game is complete. Crashed around 10 or 11 times. I give the game a 5 out of 10. Game is just way too linear in the way that the entire game just felt like one long tutorial session. Missions were repetitive. Every mission was pretty much sneak into this building remain undetected, grab this thing. As soon as you get said thing some how everybody instantly know you are there, long gun fight your way back outside. As soon as you make it back outside, boom, knife fight with that level boss. Win fight drive back back home. That is literally how every mission, every chapter in the game is laid out.

There is zero free roam which makes no sense since there are places for you to upgrade your clothes, weapons, cars, horses but literally outside of 2 missions that directly takes you there, you aren't allowed to just go there on your own when you want to. The story is predicatable, like I figured out who was going to do what in the first 2 hours of the game and sure enough, they did. So the ending was lack luster because what I thought would happen, HAPPENED.

So for me the series is the following:

                  Mafia 2 > Mafia 3 > Mafia 1 > Mafia: The Old Country

One of the best games I have played in the last several years. Definitely my favorite game in the series. Amazing story, great setting, love the time period, interesting characters, and great music. I give it a 9.5/10. If you like a good story, you need to give it a chance.

Game complete after about 15 hours. it was just meh. Not much to add to what Gotmadskillzson already mentioned except I told a friend of mine that the game felt like a 10+ hour demo. Honestly the gameplay simply isn't engaging. The story is decent, but its a grind to get through.

Mafia 2 will remain the king of the series for me. This one here will replace Mafia 3 as my least favorite.

It looks like we have us a good ol fashion split here as i'm on your side. I'm not as far as the others just on chapter 5, but still i'm loving it. I knew going in it was going to be a shorter and linear game which was a selling point since its my #2 game to CFB. It's got some vides of a cross between RDR and uncharted with Mafia

It took me 14.5 hours to complete. The perfect length imo.

Just finished it in over 13 hours. Overall, I enjoyed it for what it was. I enjoyed the story. I didn't really care for the driving , knife duels, and gun play at times. But, I chalk that up to the time period I would like to see more shorter linear style games. I have Gamefly, so that changes my mindset towards games. This wouldn't be a game that I would buy and replay.

I still wish they would've gave Mafia 1 Definitive Edition a next gen patch. I would love to play that game at 60fps

Finished it in 18 hours. Good game.
