Well, I caved, it was just too pretty sitting there. I picked up one. I suck. Anyway, I have 3 dead pixels on my screen, one right in the middle, it's not too distracting and you don't notice it at all when movement is on the screen. I have the warranty on it, and will probably just wait a few months if not longer and see if they come out with an improved version before I take advantage of the replacement.

Picked up Ridge Racer, Twisted Metal, NBA and Lumines. What can I say, I dogged the system a lot, but I'm a sucker for shiney new electronics. All 4 games are very good IMO for the time I gave them last night. Lumines by far was the best of the bunch, just addictive as hell. It'll be a good, fun system to take on trips or doctor's office visits. Glad I picked it up..wife on the other hand...no comment.

You're going to love it then. It's much more than arcadey....it's actually a pretty good hockey game. Maybe the wrong kind of players were reviewing it...hence the bad press. I just played another game against Calgary. I won 1-0...but I was on Pro level. Time to move up a notch....6 minute periods...shots were 28-21(I had 28).
...and you will get used to the analog stick. I wish there were some sort of finger grips for the back of the PSP though...it's tough to hold on to when the action starts getting intense because it is so thin....no biggie though.

Knight, check out this product. It is a rubbery sleeve that prtoects the entire system and it comes with a screen protector. It also adds some grip for your fingers. I picked it up at Gamestop when I got my PSP. It's only $10. I recommend it.

Question for you...how do you know if you have a "dead pixel" problem? I don't have any games yet, but would I be able to tell from the menu screens?

I can only tell on dark black screens, you'll see a white/dead pixel that has no color to it. It's pretty common on LCD's, but since this is a smaller unit, it's much more obvious to the normal eye. Once a game is playing or a movie is going, you'll never see it, only on menu's or loading screens. I want to get it fixed, but it's not life or death, and most PSP's will either eventually have it happen or already do.
