    Yes, and Tenchu came out before Splinter Cell if you want to make that kind of arguement.

    As for Metal Gear... does that count as a stealth game?

        MGS on PSX was a great action/stealth game. My only complaint was that I felt too often the game made me a spectator instead of a participant. If I wanted a story, I'd watch a movie or read a book. I was hoping MGS2 would focusing on letting the player play the game and not watch it. Instead of improving we got the biggest gaming disappointment in the last 10 years IMO. I spent even more time 'watching' the game unfold and this time the story was awful.

        SC took what MGS did so well and left out the storybook. Kudos to Ubisoft! You took on Solid Snake, kicked his butt and turned him into a card game.
