I have a feeling that they are selling well, but the allocation to the bigger retailers has skewed this perception a little bit. We will certainly know more in a week or two, and whether major retailers still have stock on-hand.

Re: PSP: Not Flying off the shelves??
I just got back from my Gamestop. I just wanted to see the demo unit if they had one. They did and the guy let me play it for about an hour. I was very impressed. Then he said they had about 15 units still available.
I didn't buy one, but believe me I was very tempted. I think it's a nice unit. But if you want some decent accessories and games you'll be out about 4-5 bills.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: PSP: Not Flying off the shelves??
walmart still has 95% of their "shipment" from release night. I swear, the people that shop and buy stuff at walmart are the not type of demographic that can afford a little handheld unit.
walmart might start selling their units to GS,EB, and BB.... thats what i heard.
only in my area.Comment

Re: PSP: Not Flying off the shelves??
I'm in southern cali, and it's actually hard to find here. I was very lucky to get the last one at the best buy by my work. While I was in line getting ready to pay for it, 5 other people came by and asked if they had anymore.
In my opinion, the price is steep, and that's probably what turns most people off. But it is a great system, with an amazing screen. I was watching Spider-Man 2 on it and the video is great.
I think that it'll eventually catch on a bit more. It is truely a beautiful piece of hardware. Sony has to eventually let us burn UMD discs tho. I think that would help sales a bit.Comment

Re: PSP: Not Flying off the shelves??
keep in mind that this is a handheld, and while they sell it's not quite like a new system being released...might take a little while for Sony to really eat into Nintendo's firm grasp on handheldsNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: PSP: Not Flying off the shelves??
Try finding a 1gb memory card in the next two weeks.
it's gonna be like hell finding one, let alone a 512 card.
Good luck to all that are looking for one. It's like a 1000 to 1 ratio of available psp's to available 1gb cards right about now.Comment

Re: PSP: Not Flying off the shelves??
Where I live you can't buy the system by itself. They force you to buy the bundle (although I think that's the case for every store in NA). There was an article yesterday where they said sales were going really well.
Personally I can't justify a $400 PSP bundle when I know it's just a handheld. If I wanted a PS2 type system ...... I would just buy a PS2. Basically everytime I'm on the road, I'm driving so I wouldn't be playing it. I hate playing games on small screens.
As far as I'm concerned the movie feature is worthless since you can't play DVD's and you need to buy a huge memory card to be able to play a lot of songs.
I'm interested to see how many units are moved after one year.
I will give credit to Sony for a strong launch lineup. They probably already have as many games as the DS.Comment
