I'm not sure if you've actually seen the machine, but the screen is not small at all. It is a great size for movies. Tho it does suck that you can't play DVDs on it.

I'm so use to playing my games on TV's, I have a hard time getting use to anything less than that.

Try finding a 1gb memory card in the next two weeks.

it's gonna be like hell finding one, let alone a 512 card.

Good luck to all that are looking for one. It's like a 1000 to 1 ratio of available psp's to available 1gb cards right about now.

But don't you have to use Sony's proprietary MemoryStick format..?? I was bored and looking at the prices for a 1Gb stick on ebay and saw them ata pretty steep price (can't recall though...)

But don't you have to use Sony's proprietary MemoryStick format..?? I was bored and looking at the prices for a 1Gb stick on ebay and saw them ata pretty steep price (can't recall though...)

It's just the PRO DUO format.. sandisk makes one. my brother bought one for his unit. 512mb unit. fluroescent green casing.

people love sticking with the "sony" name though. Sony does make their own line of memory cards. SanDisk is just as good and 50 dollars cheaper.

That's exactly my point. Over $200 for a 1 GB memstick.... when I paid $125 for a 2 GB CompactFlash for my PDA.

I can't justify that price in any way shape or form...

Was the PRO DUO MemoryStick made ONLY for the PSP. I see your point now Pared, if it WAS only made for that unit.

But I thought that they have been around awhile and could be for cameras and stuff.

Even SD cards arent too pricey and the format is pretty new. Screw SONY if infact they did make a new card just for the PSP>

From what the manager at my EB Games told me, Blockbuster signed a contract with Sony to rent out PSP games as well as rent out the movies as they become available. I think once people start seeing them at the rental stores, perhaps it'll persaude others to purchase the PSP. For me personally, with the XBox due out at the end of year, that's a lot of coin to drop on two consoles. Plus the fact that the games are as much as the XBox and PS2 games. Too steep for my pockets.
