    First PSP Game

    Hey all...

I'm close to buying a PSP - just waiting for the new shipment to hit So Cal at the end of the week. I'm looking to buy just one game when I buy the system and am asking for pepole's opinion on which is the best game out for the PSP currently.

I sort of have it narrowed down to Lumines or WipeoutPure. Which one do you think makes the most of the PSP hardware? Which one is the most fun and the best representative of the PSP?

I'm also not against other games, but I'm not looking for something I can get on my PS2.

Any help from those who have the system would be great! Thanks!

Wipeout Pure and Lumines were the two I picked up at first as well, and I have to admit it's tough to choose between them. Wipeout obviously has the cooler graphics and gameplay, but Lumines is such an addictive puzzle game, it's like crack but better. I'd probably say Wipeout just because the graphics are cooler, but you really should get Lumines too.

Plus .... with WipeOut, you can explore the WebBrowser and IRC hacks .....

I love Lumines, but I would probably recommend WipeOut just based on that.

I think the 1st game should be one where you can show the power of the PSP(Ridge Racer, Wipeout).

But, Lumines is the best game I've played in the PSP.

I own Lumines and Ridge Racer, and I must say I enjoy Lumines more.

I actually may trade-in Ridge Racer for Wipeout.

Like mgo said, it's like crack, only better

I got Tiger, Metal Gear, and Lumines. Metal Gear is highly UNDER rated...but it's turn based. THe other two are both great. You can't go wrong with most of the launch titles.

                    Hey, thanks a lot guys.

I think I'm leaning towards WipoutPure for my first game. The Wi-Fi capablity and graphics (not to mention the hacks) seems like it would be a good first game. I plan on getting Lumines in the near future, but I just wanted to get one to start.

I like the ridge racer idea, but for some reason, I was really curious about either of these two.

Now I just have to wait for the PSP shipment to come in (all the stores around here say by Saturday). So hopefully I'll get my grubby hands on one.

Oh and by the way... Thanks you OS for making me want to get this .

p.s. this is the coolest gadget I have. The fact that you can store pictues, music and movies on it is insane. I think I am going to need a 1gb card though.

To be honest, all the additional things is what sold it for me. I really think this has HUGE potential to be a universal do-everything gadget. From internet browsing, to movies, music, to games. And I'm really excited about the wi-fi capabilities and online gaming.

When I first thought it was just going to be a tiny ps2, I didn't see myself getting it, but hearing what it can do (and will be able to do) really got me very interested.

A little birdie told me the 2nd shipment was going to hit today, so we'll see after work if I can pick one up (I HOPE!!!)
