Originally posted by seanmacNo, nor do I. I used to own every system, I came to a conclusion about which one I preferred (Xbox), and I went ahead and got rid of the other ones. I am invested in as much as I want my system to do well enough that I don't have to worry about its viability, but I don't envision the Xbox 360 going to way of the Dreamcast or even being marginalized like the Gamecube, so it's not much of an issue. The Xbox 360 and PS3 are both going to move a ton of units, and it's highly likely that third party developers will put out games for both consoles in equal measure.Back in the NCAA saddle after 17 years.Comment

Re: Sony and The Hype Machine
If MS plays it right, they could kill Sony's launch next year. Since Xbox is coming out 6-12 months early, they could possibly do a price cut around the time the new PS3 comes out. Just a thought.

Yea, but you are wrong on the "reason" they are having issues most likely. You would not sit there and get "bashed" if you actually had something great or better, or at least comparable to show right?
Yea youre right with the statement, but wrong on the assumption, it will be MS who shows next gen dominance at E3, not Sony.Comment

LMAO!
I just saw this again, and had to post it. Microsoft's jab at Sony, during E3 last year.
It's funny trust me...

Originally posted by ps2kingYou have a link to these problems they are having? I'm sure if they showed something now it would more than compare with what we've seen from 360.
And your "assumption" about next gen dominance is wrong also because no one knows who will have the better showing.
Microsoft's marketing team is doing a great job thus far and I'm sure as we can get closer to the release of PS3, MS will pick it up 100X more.

Everyone keeps saying Sony isn't showing anything, well neither is Nintendo. PS3 and Rev don't come out this year so I'm not sure what people want. E3 is right awround the corner, why don't you guys wait till after the show before saying who isn't showing what.Last edited by ps2king; 05-10-2005, 09:53 PM.Comment

Originally posted by ps2kingI'm pretty sure he was talking about specs and the direction the system is going in when he talked about "having something great or better, or at least comparable to show". In that case yea PS3 would be more than comparable, its not like Sony doesn't have a gameplan.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Sony and The Hype Machine
I know Sony has a gameplan for their next-gen system. As of now, though, the marketing for MS has been excellent in their execution of hype and lead up to E3. MS isn't stupid. They know Sony will be hyping their **** probably around the time Xbox 360 comes out. Whenever Sony starts hyping their system, I'm sure MS will be ready and counter to calm dwon the hype.

Sony doesn't have anything to prove. They'll show the PS3 at E3 and then put it under raps until next year.Comment

Re: Sony and The Hype Machine
They should at least try to stem all this pre-E3/Xbox 360 hype to Sony's side or at least try to simmer it down a little bit. Putting it under raps until next year would be a mistake. Xbox is only going to get bigger after E3 and if Sony doesn't try to control in some shape or form, Xbox is going to kill them in marketing.

With the 360 coming out this year there is nothing Sony can do to steal its thunder unless the PS3 is really that much more powerful 360.Comment
