    Re: WoW OSers?

Yea, all the new class / race combos and old world changes are going in tommorow.

Having played it for a bit on beta and the PTR, I can say its very refreshing and fun new experience.

I'm definitely going to create a goblin first and a worgen down the line somewhere just to experience their starting areas and the changes made to everything from 1-60.

        The Shattering definitely happens today.

New cinematic is available too if you haven't seen it yet.

wheres the cinematic on official site? Wow, I guess today is a big day for people who have played Warcraft for a long time, its like a new game. I kinfd of wish I would have gotten all of my people up to 80 and was "waiting around" for this to happen but its a moot point at this time.

So those of you on Beta, I have like a level 14 warlock who I was questing with in Westfall back in the day. After this patch, if I go in, is the dudes quests reset? like westfall is different now? so I will have to go and see what new quests are available for him? Also, is everything geared towards Cataclysm? Like for instance when you used to make a human, you go through the questline near SW and Elwynn Forest, are all of the storylines now around the Cataclysm storyline, or are things just different? Im just wondering because now the world is changed, I wonder whats going to happen on the next expansion, etc.

edit- also, can we fly in azeroth today?

I liked the new cinematic but I definitely liked BC/WOTLK ones more.

Should be very, very interesting with the new landscapes (I avoided all screenshots and videos of anything dealing with Cataclysm) since I'm so used to the originals

Some quests still remain, some don't so when you log in you might notice a few missing from your quest log.

Since that's a specific feature of Cataclysm I'm gonna guess no.

                    Re: WoW OSers?

All I can say about playing the Beta without giving too much away is this.

I'm not a big one into the Lore and all that jazz as I've always been more of a jock then a gamer. I am slowly becoming more and more of a gamer, but I only care so much about the lore and stories behind everything.

When I first loaded up Beta I spent 2 hours flying around the old world looking at how things have changed. I'm an old school Vanilla WoW player and I really felt amazed at how staggering the changes were/are. I actually felt like "my world" had been torn apart leaving me uncomfortable and uneasy in places I knew like the back of my hand. All of that and then some, but in a very good way.

New players or old players the changes are just amazing. Obviously players who have been around a while are going to be able to appreciate the changes a little more then some of the newer or less familiar guys, but the content is so new and different that it is going to provide a lot of enjoyment for everybody.

Let us all know your first impressions when you log in today and everything you have ever known about Azeroth is changed.

                        Spoiler

Something else to keep in mind for the next two weeks. There is going to be a Feat of Strength which will involve being in a zone when Deathwing comes and scorches the entire zone. It's going to be random old world zones throughout the day, but he will supposedly scorch every living thing in it. Not going to get much warning other then a changing of color and supposedly the warning isn't long enough to give others a notice. Really looking forward to getting scorched, but I could easily see this becoming a source of frustration as we get close to Cata if I haven't been lucky enough yet to get flamed.

Yeah, happened to me in Winterspring in the beta and I didn't know how it worked or how long it would be happening. Kinda wild seeing ice on fire lol. There was a little bit of a warning though, because Deathwing yells out something before he does it, or at least he did. I remember yelling.

I missed it in Beta as I was working on prepping for the race to 85 most of the time but from the accounts I got it was basically:

Sky changes somewhat, I think color and lighting.

                            Deathwing Yells out.

They always put an ETA time up for the servers. Why not put "We have no clue what time it'll be back up, so it'll be back when its back"
