There is going to be a difference of opinion from whoever you ask. The flavor of the month is WoW. (At least it is here)

I've only played one MMORPG and that is CoH. I enjoy what it gives me. I like the idea of being a superhero with superpowers. Since I haven't played others, I can't really comment on them. CoH is very easy to get into. It is fast paced and fighting is at a premium. Teaming in CoH is optional, but to realize the game's full potential, teaming is a must.

If you like fantasy based stuff, WoW or Everquest II might interest you. Obviously Galaxies, might quell the Star Wars freak in you.

Re: COH: New info from Statesman...

thanks a lot for the info guys

I do love Star Wars and i played Galaxies when it first came out-but i havent seen it with the new jump to lightspeed expansion (has it changed the game at all?) It was a very fun experience, but im lookin for something better. The missions all seemed the same to me. I didnt feel motivated to advance my character.

I used to love Ultima back in the day and that game is probably what I base my judgements on when it comes to how much fun i have with a MMOG. That franchise has since gone to crap, but I still like that type of "theme" when it comes to MMOGs (medieval/fantasy/lord of the rings, etc... type)

I wish you could rent PC games, but I guess Ill just buy both Everquest II and WoW. Then ill just stick with one

and ive got to check out City of Heroes. Ive never heard a negative thing about it and it just sounds like fun.

they sound like games that are good divergences from reality. Plus, I need something to do while im doing nothing at the office

thx again for all the info
