I haven't had any issues with it yet as far as limited slots go. But you can only change skills in a town, it seems. The "no monthly fee" is what sold me on it, honestly. I wasn't going to get another game to drop $15 a month on, but the initial game purchase wasn't a big deal. I just don't like locking myself into things for that long, especially when I already pay for 2 accounts of WoW, 1 of SWG and CoH.

I know it runs BUTTER smooth on my 3-year old AMD 2000 with a gig of PC2100 DDR and a Radeon 9800 Pro in 1280x1024 with absolutely everything at max.Comment

Re: Anyone pick up Guild Wars?
played it at e3, and not only did it look spectacular, but the game was fun as hell.
they seemed to have done a hell of a job with this game. and the developers are plenty excited to continue to add to the exisiting game as well.Comment

Re: Anyone pick up Guild Wars?
I love the fact that you can add one name to your friends list, and any time your buddy is logged on with any character on that account, he shows as "Online (As such and such)". For people like me who roll a gazillion toons, that's awesome. No more friends list updating all the time!
Eddie, Injun...what is your main char's name? Mine is "Draco Steele".Comment

I like that feature as well as I have already rolled and deleated about 6 different chars. I just cannot find that combo that makes me want to continue playing.
My main char is "Vile Conception", he is a Necro,Element.
Do you ever get to update your look or does everyone look the same for the entire game?Actually...believe it or not from my physique... I'm a light eater - Clay T. ShaverComment

Re: Anyone pick up Guild Wars?
The entire beginning is just like a starter island. You can't get your own cape (unless you join a guild), and there are no armorers there. Everybody only looks the same on the newbie island (or so I hear. I haven't left yet lol).Originally posted by injunwalI like that feature as well as I have already rolled and deleated about 6 different chars. Re: Anyone pick up Guild Wars?
kinda frustrated with this so far...i got up to lvl 7 and at that point I couldn't find any other quests to run in the beginning area, so I went with the main stuff again (where you talk to Tidus or whoever and then end up 2 years in the future, etc), and now any quests I have are frustrating to all hell...seems like it's attempt to get to my contact, but on the way either 4 lvl 4's tear my lvl 8 a new one really fast (like I don't have a chance), or a lvl 5 charr kills me in like 4 swings of his sword...not sure what I'm doing wrong, maybe i have to force myself to group more, but I'm still learning all the nuances so usually prefer to solo a bit at first, or group with you guys...
i dunno, Penny Arcade said it gets really cool eventually, I just don't think i'm there yet and it's kinda frustrating in the meantime...especially since it doesn't seem like armor or anything really means much, most drops are crap...I'm gonna give it more time, but also on the push to 40 in WoW (37.5 now), so that's easily pulled me away from GW so far.
If i'm missing something, went to this new area too early (maybe I should have stayed in the noob area longer and grinded?), i'd appreciate knowing...i'll roll a new char and give it a goNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Anyone pick up Guild Wars?
No, you left pre-searing at just the right time. I left at seven myself, unless you went over the wall and fought the level 8 Charr(which is not an easy task) you weren't really going to have much more to do to gain experience.Originally posted by mgobluekinda frustrated with this so far...i got up to lvl 7 and at that point I couldn't find any other quests to run in the beginning area, so I went with the main stuff again (where you talk to Tidus or whoever and then end up 2 years in the future, etc), and now any quests I have are frustrating to all hell...seems like it's attempt to get to my contact, but on the way either 4 lvl 4's tear my lvl 8 a new one really fast (like I don't have a chance), or a lvl 5 charr kills me in like 4 swings of his sword...not sure what I'm doing wrong, maybe i have to force myself to group more, but I'm still learning all the nuances so usually prefer to solo a bit at first, or group with you guys...

Have you trying bringing henchmen(CPU controlled teamates) with you on any quest? This game is different then many others, where in if the enemy has double or more the number combatants as you have, you have a good chance of getting smoked even if you are 3 or 4 levels higher than they are. Also your build(or class combination) is more vunerable to certain enemies than other ones.
With the henchman party that I like to bring, we usually destroy melee, or ranger mobs, but enemies that hex, poision or cast other offensive spells always causes my party trouble.
Weapons and armors definitely don't have the same importance in this game as they do in other games. If uber gear means a lot to you, then you will probably never really be satisfied with what this game offers up.
If you group up with some of your boys from OS and use sound tactics and play as a team then you can probably cakewalk through the PvE missions.
I don't play PVP so I can't really comment on that part of the game.
Those that love this game probably fall into two camps. They Love PvP and have a great guild of guys to play with, or they like doing quests and missions for their own sake without a substantial payoff an the end. Most others will probably be burned out on this game in a couple of weeks.
For PvE, having a great party, or the patience to deal with the limited A.I. of the henchmen, is the key success in the game. I'm at level 17 and am really enjoying myself.Jordan Mychal Lemos
