Re: weekly poker game?
My games are twice a month. First is a ring game with limits $2/$4, then we play a tourney with a $50 buy in ($10 goes to the host for beer, and food ect.) the rest is devided up based on this pay scale 65% for 1st, 25% for second, and 10% for third usually about 12-15 guys from work and what not, it's a very fun night that usually goes into the wee hours of the mornings.Moderator

Re: weekly poker game?
we always play tourney stlye at school. Usually 5 dollar buy in's with a 5 dollar rebuy if you get bounced before the first hour. Usually we have about 8-10 people play so winning is a pretty good deal for a college kid. The last time we played it was a 20 dollar buy with about 6 or 7 guys. I took it home, nice 100 dollar win for me. Anyways our blinds go up about every 30 minutes, I know it takes a long time but its something we've always done. I just love poker, and I think its one of the great social games to play with friends and strangers alike.http://flotn.blogspot.com

we play with about 5 or 6 regulars plus whoever wants to play when they're home for school or just want to play some poker. Usually do 10 dollar buy-in or once in awhile we'll play dealers choice with 25 cent chips.

Re: weekly poker game?
My friends and I used to play all the time, but since we graduated from college more and more of us are moving away so we only play around the holidays. We've played the last 4 nights.
We just play $10 buy-in, NL tourneys. I've won five outta the last nine and got second in two more, so I'm having a great vacation so far. Winner gets $50, second place gets $30, third gets their money back.
A buncha my boys actually woke up at 5am this morning and went to play in a tourney at Foxwoods, 220-man tourney with a $60 buy-in. But I had today off so I figured I'd just wake up at noon and put that $60 towards a couple sit-n-go's on Pokerstars instead."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: weekly poker game?
Last year, when I lived in the dorms, my buddies and I would play $5-$10 buy-in NL tourney, every night Sunday-Thursday, with about a total of ten guys.
Now.... My buddy usually has a Wednesday $5 game, but its not as big, and I hardly ever go. I play online every day, so I don't feel the need.Comment

Re: weekly poker game?
Hmm, online poker is starting to really stick it to me lately. On Poker Stars I play $20 sit-n-go tournaments, hold 'em, NL.
Just nine people (one table). On the 23rd I won two tournies and finished second in another. That earned me $230. Since then I've played five tournaments and gotten screwed in every one of them.
Tourney #1
I have J/9, I was very short stacked and go all-in, one call. He has J/5. Flop is J/J/5. He gets a fully. Good-bye to me.
Tourney #2
I go all in with pocket Q's, get one caller, pocket 8's. He gets his trips, I get knocked out.
Tourney #3
I have A/K, go all in, get one call. He has J/10 suited in diamonds. Flop is A/K/5 with one diamond. He gets runner-runner diamonds on the turn and river to get his flush and knock me out
Tourney #4
I go all in with pocket K's, I get one caller with pocket dueces. He gets a 4-card straight on the river to knock me out.
Tourney #5
This one just happened, I go all in with A/K, get one caller with K/Q. He gets his Queen to knock me out.
These five all came in a row, I think I'm going to take my business over to Full Tilt poker because this is getting a little rediculous."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: weekly poker game?
We usually play once or twice a month. Normally $20 games. Usually the winner just takes half of the earnings for keeps and buys everyone beer and pizza with the rest. So if you win you usually keep around $100 and spend the other half at the bar. It's always winner takes all, though everyone who plays usually gets a few drinks and slices later that night.
It can get pricey though in College, $20 is a lot when you're eating Mr. Noodle packages for dinner...Comment
