Fried okra? no thanks... My Dad used to eat that stuff all the time, and I would refuse everytime he offered me some... Some folks here, to them it's like heaven on earth... I'll pass....

Us Armenians have a dish called "bamiya" (pronounced Baw-Me-Yaw) which is the Armenian word for okra. Basically, it's like an okra stew in a red sauce. We eat it over a bed of pilaf (rice). It's GREAT stuff.

In HS, my dad lived in Pasadena and Glendale, so I spent my summers there. Most of my friends either went to Glendale High, CV, or Hoover. I think I remember Glendale having the largest Armenian population per capita or something like that.

BK, yeah, I think it has the highest per capita. Too many "Armos" there though. most of the crime involving Armenians (and there is a lot, the Armenians from Armenia are terrible people a lot of the time) eminates from Glendale.
